I lost a lot of wieght eating only fruit. Bananas were off limits and so was dried fruit and fruit juice. But, I ate as much as I want and the weight poured off.

Fruits are high in fiber and it is hard to eat enough to gain weight. They also have sugar that keeps your brain from thinkiing that you are starving. Read up about fruit fasts and fruit diets. I have done it and was hungry for the first few days and did not have as much energy but I lost 36 lbs. Some of this comes from your GI track but that is good. You have a lot build up there and this diet takes a lot of it away.

I heard from a nurse at a hospital that her co-worker lost 30 lbs. to a fruit and veggie diet she was on for a month the only thing i disagree with though is you still need protein so include fresh unbreaded fish, chicken and turkey. oh yeah and for the first person who said only four helpings a day....even the food pyramid says 5 servings a day is best. Eat what is natural as intended.

Go for it! Don't worry about the sugar either, sugar from fruit is unrefined and does not affect you the same way as, say, a glazed donut would. Just remember that the huge fruit craving might just be your body telling you that your just really thirsty.

And don't be alarmed by strange poo.

Eat a pint or two of blueberries, you'll see what I mean.

Look up a healthy eating food pyramid...Grains, nuts and supposed to be your food stable. Healthy living foods are the best for you as in sprouts and mung-beans....they say go for 5 vegetable and 2 fruit a day...anything containing sugar is fattening if not burnt off...so another way to watch your weight is get up and moving get fit and eat a balanced diet.

Best to transfer your affections to vegetables. Fruits have a lot of sugar. Some fruits are good, but too many can give you too much sugar, just like too many cookies can.

watch out for the sugar content in fruits, and the starch content in some vegetables, but if you feel like eating a truck load of celery and those really green, leafy vegetables, go for it. they take more energy to eat then they have in them, and they are good for you but don't forget to get in all your vitamins in, this includes proteins and such that you can't get from vegetables alone.

They are very good for you, but also have a lot of sugar. I would say no more than 4 helpings a day.
