The codes come off of any size botlles. They also come off of 12-packs but they are not on ACTUAL CANS.

Where do you find the code? I have three empty coke cans in my trash can here at work and they all have 2006-0287 on them. Is there some special place where the codes are? Let me know and I'll edit my answer to include the codes.
