We have a Lab mix who likes to roll in the cow or horse poop. And your right its hard to bath him every day. So I wet a towel and put liquid soap on one end. I use that end to scrub offensive area, then wipe well with other end. He sleeps with me also and this has solved our problem. We have not been able to stop this behavior and he is now nine. Another dog we had we finally broke him of the habit, by bathing him with the garden hose and scolding. He loved water, but not that way and decided it was best to stop that behavior.

TOMATOE JUICE. BUY AN OVER-SIZED CAN OF IT, USE IT AS IF IT WAS SHAMPOO, LET IT SOAK ON HIS FUR FOR A COUPLE MINUTES, RINSE OR. DO IT OVER AGAIN ONCE MORE, THEN BATHE HIM IN REGULAR DOG SHAMPOO. MY DOG DID THE SAME THING, IT REALLY WORKS!

Usually the dogs sniff it first right? Put pepper on the skunk poop. Most dogs don't like pepper.. some will sneeze. This works world of wonders for dogs who dig. Sprinkle pepper in the hole and they'll never dig there again. No need to fill it with water and gag the dog.. My dad used to do this.. augh!
Pretty soon they will associate the skunk poop with leaving it alone and they may find other things to occupy their time.

Buy Natural Chemistry Waterless Bath it works good for that kind of spot cleaning because like you said you cant bath them every day!! It is usually sold at the local pet store at a reasonable price you just spray it on work it in and towel dry a bit.
