It all depends on budget.
You can find an interior designer through the phone book.
Or even call builders and find out who they use to decorate for their model homes.
But my favorite way is to think back to a friend's house you've been to where you liked the decorating and ask them. - Usually someone who doesn't do it for a living will charge much less -maybe even for free if they're really flattered.

Some upscale furniture stores offer free design service. Are you starting from scratch or just need to work with what you have? Even if you don't purchase anything from these furniture stores you can offer to pay them a fee for design service. They have experience and wont charge you the rate of an interior designer but have great ideas. I did this for years, worked at Ethan Allen and helped a lot of people with there design dilemmas. Hope this helps.

Don't just look for an interior designer. I suggest a feng shui consultant - they will design your interior in a way that would harvest positive energy into your home. They're quite affordable.

I have one that I use...The bad thing is it gets pretty expensive, but my house looks great. If you are in the Phoenix area email me and I can give you her info.
