Question - where do you have him that he can get hold of grass? I ask because if you have him off your property, into an area where other dogs can go, at 8 weeks he is at serious risk of picking up one of the major diseases - assuming he's not had his full course of vaccination yet. Eating grass can (although not always because mine like to 'graze' when the first new shoots arrive in Spring and they don't throw up) be a symptom of an upset tummy - dogs do eat grass to purge themselves. It sounds as if, assuming he's not been anywhere near other dogs yet, this is probably just a mild tummy upset which he's trying to sort out 'nature's way'. You could try giving him a small amount of natural yogurt which often sorts out uncomplicated tummy upsets. But if this continues, as vomiting (and loosness) can cause dehydration which is serious in the young, I'd have your vet check him out. He could also be wormy - puppies need regular worming during their early weeks. But you should be seeing your vet, re vaccinations, in any case, so I'd take his advice about what's going on.

Are you sure he isn't sick, not eating all of a sudden is a sign of illness. If you think he might be sick take him to see a vet.
Rat terriers are very smart, and very stubborn. He knows if he holds out you will give him something better than what he has.
Make sure he has a very good kibble, go to naturapet.com for more info on dog nutrition, and feed him at the same times everyday.
Set a strict schedule, food is down for 15 minutes four times a day until he is 6 months old, then twice a day for the rest of his life. No snacks, at least not until after he gets used to his schedule. This teaches him to get it while the getting is good, and not to play around. It lets you monitor his appetite to watch for changes that signal illness. and you know for sure how much he is eating.
Obedience training is also good for this breed. Smart and stubborn, I'm telling you! Petsmart has a great program.
Good luck, I hope this helps.

You need to find out a few things. Did you change the food from what the original breeder gave her? Is she having stomach symtoms? If she is bloated she may have worms and that will decrease her appetite. Take her to the vet if it goes on too long and she is losing weight. She or he may just not like the food you are giving her try another kind of food.

Try moistning the food with warm milk. Might have to puch it's nose in the first time or put some on your finger and put in it's mouth. Sometimes they enjoy that. Not too much milk though. If that doesn't work, try to spoon feed it like a baby.

Take it to the vet. It could be sick or have gotten a cut in it's mouth or throat from swallowing something it was chewing on
