Potato slices will remove salt.
But very thin slices of tofu will soak up all spicing (especially chilli pepper). Keep the dish warm and add between 5 and 10 slices. Wait 10 to 15 minutes ,pull the tofu out and discard. Taste the dish. Repeat, with fresh thin tofu slices if there is some excess pepper remaining.
When you have removed enough pepper, respice the dish. Tofu soaks up all spices and flavorants.

You can put a raw potatoe and let it simmer, it will absorb some of the spice...Hope this helps...

add heavy cream. it's not well known, but any 'heat' in food can be tamed with a few ounces of milk or cream.
