Um, who did he marry? Since there was, at that time, exactly 3 other people on the whole planet?
I know you christians hate questions like this, the ones that point out just how incredibly stupid your mythology is, but some of us have more than a teaspoonfull of brains and your mythology just doesn't make any sense to us.
If any of you can explain; I'd like to hear it...
(now, get ready for apologists...)

Jeez you folks, were your ancestral villages settled by congenital morons?
It's MYTHOLOGY, nothing more. To make up such childish explanations for the unexplainable is... well.. childish. In the extreme. And it makes me feel sorry for each and every one of you. Grow the hell up ok? NO leprechauns, NO fairies and NO god.

According to fundmentalists, it was Lillith or his sister. Also, one should note that Cain was scared that somebody would kill him for killing Abel even though there was nobody else alive except his parents.

This is not a gaping hole in the story. The Bible does not give us any type of timeline from the time that Cain killed Abel and God marked him. We also know that Adam and Eve had many many children. People lived for hundreds of years in the very beginning, Adam being the second oldest at 962. Populations can explode and cities be built in that kind of time. Cain married maybe a sister, or a very distant relative. Who knows. The Lord didn't rule out marrying your brother/sister etc...until He delivered the law to the Children of Israel. And yes, Adam and Eve were the first and only people on earth. I know someone answered Adam and Lilith were and that Eve came later. That doesn't line up with Scripture at all. The simple fact of the matter is that because of Adam and Eve's sin in the garden we are all sinners (see Romans 5). God put the flaming sword and the cherub to guard the gate to the Garden of Eden after He kicked them out. He didn't want them to eat of the tree of life and live forever in a fallen state. If there had been other people alive at the time who had not sinned, there would be a mixture of sinners and non sinners living today. And that, didn't happen as it is very apparent by the deeds of men. Just take a look around, it's impossible to disagree.

This is a great question! Most even learned Christians or (so-called) Jews, couldn't even begin to answer this question.
The answer is very simple. Cain and Abel were not Adam and Eve's first children. At no place in the bible, does it say, or even imply, that these were their first children. It's just assumed because they are the first ones mentioned. Adam lived for 900 years.

Genesis 5:3-5
And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begot sons and daughters:
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Adam and Eve were probably around a hundred years old when Cain was born. Yet, there is no reason to believe, they didn't have children immediately. How much procreation can the offspring of offsprings' offsprings produce in a century? Well, there you have it. The problem is that unbelievers like you, don't understand anything about life, while the believers don't read! It's rough out here!
Adam and Eve, and all of the people of this time were far genetically superior to people of our day. One of the great lies promoted is that man evovles. Technology evolves but man devolves.

First of all, where in the Bible does it say that there were only 3 other people on the whole planet? Just because the Bible only mentions Cain, Able, Adam and Eve does not mean they were the only ones on the planet- Adam and Eve very likely had several other children. Personally, I like questions like this as it causes me to go into the deeper things and really get into the Word and discover more truth. I suggest that if you really want to know, lay down your attitude and read the word for yourself. AnswersinGenesis.com has some really good information, thoughtful, logical and reasonable regarding where Cain got his wife. It has some really good information about dinosaurs. Find out about it so you can stop spreading myths about what we Christians believe (**smile**)

There weren't exactly 3 other people on the whole planet as you state as fact. Adam and Eve (of a pure race) lived a long time and had many other children. This is how the human race began. Cain and Able were mentioned (for God's example) showing the first sin of selfishness, envy, murder, and the beginning of the line of Enoch. If you want to demean people for answering your questions, name calling, then don't expect to get answers. Who are you to call anyone stupid?

Maybe if you read the Bible, you would find out:

Gen 5:4 The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters.

Maybe if you would just trust God instead of being such a skeptic.

So Who Did Cain Marry?

Many Christians are baffled by the fact that the Bible tells us that Adam and Eve had only three sons, Cain, Abel and Seth. It then goes on to say that Cain murdered Abel and “…went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.” (Gen 4:16) In Nod he not only found a wife but built a city, which presumably he did not do alone. “…and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch”. (Gen 4:17). Furthermore Adam and Eve did not give birth to Seth until after Cain murdered Abel and was banished to Nod. (Gen 4:25).

One of the main reasons this question perplexes most people is because they do not actually read the words of the text and assume that Cain found his wife in the land of Nod. But read the text again!

"And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch." (Genesis 4:16-17).

The Bible doesn't say that Cain found his wife in Nod. It says that he went to Nod and then “knew” his wife. . The word ‘knew’, means that Cain had sexual relations with his wife, who he could have been already married to when he left for Nod. (The word ‘knew’ is only used in some translations. The New American Standard Bible says “And Cain had relations with his wife…”) So… Where did Cain get his wife?

The Bible does tell us "after Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years," and it also tells us that "he had other sons and daughters." (Genesis 5:4 ).

In fact, the genealogy in Genesis 5 records that every descendant of Adam down to Lamech had "other sons and daughters," some born to men who were on the wrong side of 180 years. People up to this point in Biblical history had very long life spans thereby substantially increasing their childbearing years, which means there could have been a out-and-out population explosion in a relatively short period of time.

If Eve’s childbearing years were about 500 and they had their first child at about the age of 50 and another child every five years, it is not outside the realm of possibility that he had sisters from whom he picked a wife even before he left. However had he waited to marry until he was about 200 years old, he probably had more than a few women to choose from, some of whom could have left for Nod before he did. In fact the world's population could have approached a few billion by the time of Adam's death at the age of approximately 900, and at least 120,000 people could have been alive on earth within only a few hundred years. The math is simple….

Your question is flawed! Who said he got married "at that time"? He married his sister but he waited until she was born and grew up, it kind of works that way. It really isn't that hard to understand and I have no problem with questions like that because it points out how little you read and understand the Bible that you are attacking.

Actually Bible never said, there wasn't any other siblings... They just highlighted Cain and Abel. Cain was banished from the Eden, and he had a mark of Cain so that creatures from outside Eden cannot harm him.. Bible never mention what these creatures were.. subhumans? monsters? animals? it was a hostile environment, but God in his infinite compassion saved Cain from the environment he was exiled to...

MANKIND ADAM

We all have read about Cain and Abel (Gen.4:8-17)
How Cain slew Abel, and God cursed Cain and drove him out.
Then Cain said (Gen.4:14) “that every one that findeth me shall slay me”
Who is Cain worried about?
Then in (Gen.4:17) And Cain knew his wife
Where did Cain find a wife?

The answer is in the Hebrew text (Gen.1:26 and Gen.2:7).

Gen.1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: ….
The word “man” (Gen.1:26)
in Hebrew text looks like this ( אדם )
with no article means “MANKIND”
The word “man” (Gen.1:26) transliterated is (adam).

Gen.2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, ….
The word “man” (Gen.2:7)
in Hebrew text looks like this ( את־האדם )
with article and particle means “THIS SAME MAN ADAM”.
The word “man” (Gen.2:7) transliterated is (eth-Ha adham).

So on the sixth day God created or made MANKIND.

On the eighth day God formed THIS SAME MAN ADAM.
