I think we always have someone that in our minds is better than us, but you gotta get that out of your head. If you wanna stay motivated, wake up every day and look at yourself in the mirror and say " Am I Happy with what i see?" if you are than theres really no reason to put you through the stress of weight loss. If your not then write down what you would like to improve and just stay to it, if you feel like your startin to break down then tell a loved one and i'm sure they will get you through it.

Go to the bathroom and close the door. Put lights on, take all your clothes off and look at as much of your naked body you can from the mirror...let some drama to settle down...if you do not like what you see...have that picture of you in your mind when you want something really bad and then think if you want to stay the same or if you want to have a change...you need to make different choices if you want to have different results.
Do not compete with others, just with yourself. It is a good thing that you joined in to the Weight Watchers. That is one of the best programs available.
I do not know how old you are and how much you desire to lose weight, but remember how you eat an elephant? One bite at the time. Do not have too many long term goals, break it to every day commitment type of thing. YOU CAN DO IT! IT IS YOUR TURN! You are going to be fit. You are going to be healthy. You are going to be so beautiful you did know was possible.
Remember to exercise at least three times a week. Walking is easy but do what ever you like the best. Drink water at least half of your weight as ounces... ( If you are 150 lb, drink 75 ounces of water ) that helps you too. Quit sugary drinks and diet sodas. Eat several well balanced meals a day. You lose your muscels if you quit eating. You need your muscles to burn those calories. If you are 150lb, you need at least 1 500 calories a day just to survive, I say to keep you alive. Eat a lot fresh, raw fruits and vegetables a day. The new recommendation is 9 - 13 servings a day. An apple a day keeps doctor away. When you give to your body the nutrition it needs, you will not have so many cravings. And your body starts to want you to eat healthy stuff. Stay away from fats and sugars and salt.
Good luck. You cando it!

You need to lose the weight for your own reasons, not for competition with your cousins. First, pick the body types you want to be out of a magazine...remember be realistic there is such a thing as photoshop.
Second, make a list of your own personal goals like,
"I want to wear this kind of swimsuit this summer"
"I want to be a size___ for my friends wedding"
"I want to feel healthy when I go out"
That's the way to keep your motivation up. Also, excersize and keep it varied. Do at least 30 minutes of some heart racing activity a day. Jogging, volley ball, basketball, swimming. And throw in something for flexibility too. Yoga, Pilates...you get the idea.
Also, if you can get a friend to join you on your weight loss quest, that really helps. You'll both help each other out and keep one another from cheating or falling off the wagon!

Diets do not work, just temporary solutions. Then you gain the weight back and feel even worse. The only way to fix this is a lifestyle change. Exercise more, eat less, and eat healthy. If you can find a balance that allows you to be happy and exercise you will be successful. Not saying it is easy, but it can be done. I lost 35 pounds in 6 months, exercised 6 days a week and ate bran flakes, turkey, chicken, salad, and peanut butter sandwiches. If you lose 5 pounds a month, that's good. You don't want to lose it too fast cause your body will shut down and stop burning calories and you will stop losing weight. Just do it.

Well what worked for me was knowing the fact that I would not only look and feel better but also be much heathier. I lost a total of 110 lbs over a 14 month period and I am very happy with my accomplishment. I was on the verge of obisity and many health problems associated with the weight. So I just made up my mind to fix the problem and never turned back!

Try to find a goal that only you have (ie. not something related to your cousins or any other family member or friend). Buy a dress or bathing suit or something you want to fit into by such and such a date and work towards that. Or maybe you want to lose weight to get your cholesterol down and that can be your goal.
Also, try finding an exercise or activity that you can do with a friend or someone who isn't trying to lose weight so you don't feel like your in competition with them. Maybe find a walking buddy, or a hiking buddy so you can chat and work out at the same time. Or try taking a new kind of dance class that you are excited about and just go for it. If you find something you look forward to doing then it makes it easier to lose weight because you actually want to work out, it doesn't feel like such a chore.
I know it can be really scary to try something new, especially if you feel self conscious. I always wanted to try some sort of martial arts and finally I did, at first it was really intimidating because everyone was better than me but I found the things that I was good at and focused on those. It made me feel so good about myself to be working out and really enjoying it! Now I'm working towards getting my black belt and having a goal like that to work towards is really helpful too!
Good luck!

The best advice i can give you is to get rid of all of your decisions. Eat one meal a day between 1500 and 2000 calories. Eat the same thing everyday at the same time every day. Make sure that meal isnt that bad for you. I would suggest Chipotle. Take a multi vitiman. If you do this you will lose weight. I used to weigh 240lbs and now i weigh 176lbs. another plus is that you will never get sick!! and after a few months you will no longer crave thoes bad foods that used to destroy your body. My brain does not remember what mcdonalds tasts like so i do not crave it.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

It takes 7 days to form a habit....21 to break it.
Don't eat bread of any kind
No soda/crystal light
No butter/mayo
No cooking oil
No potatoes (mashed/baked/etc)
No chips/pretzels/nuts.
No red meat
East fish (salmon/swordfish) and you will surpass any of weight watchers expectations.
If you didn't purchase it on the outside aisles of the grocery store, don't eat it....
If you can do this for 22 days, I promise you the rest will be easy. Don't forget to sweat and use 3 lbs weights.

talk to the people at weight watchers, they are there to support you. Take yourself on workout trips on the weekend, take a long bike ride or go hiking, something that you know will help you. Long periods of exercise are good for weight lose, just as that extra challenge to give you more confidence in your stength.
