Although there are a lot of bad things about Toronto, there are a lot of good things too. Not everyone is rude and inconsiderate (although there are people who do fit into that category). The smog isn't great but we haven't had a whole lot this year so far. Yes, the crime is escalating but Toronto is still safer than a lot of other major North American cities. Some restaurants don't have great service but there are many that do, especially in downtown Toronto. Finally, we have lots of stuff to do in this city - Caribana, sightseeing, great shopping. Personally, I would make the trip and judge it for yourself. Toronto isn't perfect but it's not as bad as some cities that immediately jump to my mind that I've visited.

"I live in toronto. NOTHING is good about it. If you want to see dumb, city folk with zero consideration for others, this is the city to visit."

BINGO. I also live in Toronto and a lot of the people here are pretty rude and inconsiderate. Toronto also has plenty of other problems like bad smog in the summer and waaaay too many immigrants (not trying to be a racist or anything, but seriously it's way out of hand). Edit: I should have noted earlier that I myself am an immigrant and I don't have anything against immigrants in general. It's just that there are far too many immigrants for one city and this creates a lot of issues and problems that I don't want to go into right now because you could write an entire essay on the subject.

Honestly, I don't even know why I still live here. I guess if I had the money and the right opportunity arose I'd leave.

There is a lot to see and do in Toronto but the crime scene has definately escalated. Do your research before you go and know which areas to stay away from. The quality of air is very poor in the summer and combined with gas fumes and humidity during the heat waves can actually cause breathing problems. Driving in Toronto is a nightmare and so is being a pedestrian. Toronto beat it's record for murders last year and so far this year it is surpassing the record again. If you are visiting there I would suggest going with someone. Now there's problems with terrorists. I live 80 miles from Toronto and have to take my son to the specialists there. Otherwise I stay away.

Toronto is a fantastic city. I am biased since I grew up here but I have also lived in New Zealand, England and the U.S.

The people before have painted a pretty dim picture of this city. There is loads to do here. It all depends on what you are planning to do on vacation.

I want to talk about the safety factor. It is a very safe city. I agree that it seems like there is one murder a day but you have to remember that there is about three million people in the city. There are going to be some bad apples with that many people around. There are no terrorists in this city. There was one bust of people plotting to be terrorists but that was it....nothing more.

As for the immigrants, they make this city great. This is one of the most ethnically diversified cities in the world. That is a good thing.

Yes it gets hot here in the summer but last year was a record breaking year and it is not happening this year. You can't judge the weather because of one summer.

I get quite defensive about this city so I'm sorry for coming across as angry but when people make these blanket statements about Toronto I tend to get upset.

Your flight is from Vancouver to Toronto. those are 2 Canadian cities, and there isn't any end in another usa alongside the way. hence that's seen a loved ones flight. For loved ones flights, you do not choose a passport, yet you do desire to have some style of authentic authorities identity with image. A driving force's license or heath card will frequently qualify. The airways desire to make effective that whoever the price ticket is made out to is likewise the guy boarding the plane. And at the same time as your flight would fly over US airspace quicker or later alongside the way (as an celebration, leaving Vancouver, flights bypass out over the bay and then turn counter-clockwise, right now flying over Washington state) you never actually set foot on American soil.

Pure crap there. Disgusting air quality, no longer safe there, there's a shooting related death almost every other night, try riding a bike and you'll probably end up under a transport, way too many cars on the roads you'll be in traffic for hours, people are by far the dumbest in all of Canada.

Every other major Canadian city is better than Toronto

Just got back from Toronto. It was OK. We didn't make it to The Lord of the Ring Play though.
The airport was pretty nice and not crowded.
The Tower looked impressive from below.
The subway was nice. We ate dinner too early at a nice restaurant but the service wasn't that great.
We did enjoy the Boston Pizza place however.
Lastly, we enjoyed a nice and modern hotel not far from the tower.

born and raised there (living in England now). Goodcanadian is right...its just like any other big city (new york city, los angeles etc). it has pollution, crime and immigrants but that doesn't make it bad.

its wonderful.. especially to visit. lots to do.

immigration is not a big problem. its kinda weird to here someone who is an immigrant say that. if Canada had reduced its immigration from when people first started complaining (1960's with European flow of immigrants) a lot of us would not be there.

i love Canada, i love Toronto, i love our people!!!

I live near Toronto and have been very often, from what I have experienced it is a great place to visit. Lots of things to do, and see. Check out the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) it's my favourite place to go.

And for all you people who say its dirty and unsafe, so are all the other major cities around the world. it just comes from having so many people living in one area.
