If it's been kept frozen it should be good.

PLEASE DON'T!... unless you want to visit your local hospital! A rule of thumb to folllow for meats in the fridge (not freezer):
fish & seafood - 1-2 days;
poultry (chicken) & pork 3-4 days;
red meats 4-5 days (unless you are aging it)

I actually buy my meat the day I plan to cook it. One week is too long for chicken. Another thing, if it has been in the freezer - you should cook it the day it gets unthawed. Thawed meats are very moist and thus spoil faster.

Hi,
Like anything else in your fridge, it depends on the temperature. If you take it out and it is icy cold, it might be ok. If it smells strong or is sticky, discard it.
Rember this " when in doubt, throw it out"
food poising is a nasty bite, read this too: http://www.chefdepot.com/sanitation.htm
next time you go into your kitchen, rinse your sponge, squeeze it out and microwave it for 60 seconds, it is sanitized!

look at the sell date on the package. if it is not past the date then it will be okay as long as the chicken was frigerated. if no sell date then i wouldn't use it!
