Pilates is much better at toning and sliming! And you do use resistance bands in a lot of pilates exercises:)

Pilates was first introduced for anyone who had injured themselves because it isolates the injured area and work on it. many have found this to be really effective, otherwise, it would not be known now. For example, people in the gym normally want to build up their six-pack but that's not what they are supposed to be their focus, it looks great to have six packs but it doesn't mean that they really have strong abdominal muscles enough to support their lumbar spine. Working on your core or rectus abdominus would give you a much better support for your lumbar spine. Now Pilates is focused on their series to always include to work on the core.

Yoga is very much a different thing, it's not just another form of exercise but IT IS A WAY OF LIFE... though they are also isolating muscles so they're given a chance to stretch especially the muscles we don't really get to use. With all the twists in yoga (it's like wringing your laundry to squeeze out the excess water), you get to massage your internal organs, and wringing out all the toxins and impurities in your body.
you will find that attending a couple of classes of yoga, your body starts functioning differently, giving you more energy, and you become healthier. thru yoga only your body cleanses entirely. Circulation, is improved, posture, increase your flexibility.

Tone is a slang term for increasing muscles mass and decreasing body fat %. The best method for doing that is actually resistance training. Pilate's and Yoga improve posture, breathing and muscular endurance, but do little in comparison to resistance training to build lean muscle tissue.
