It may not be the blowing in his face at all that is making him angry. All dogs have a perimeter around their faces, some let you in some don't. He may be one of those that doesn't want you intruding into their space. If you continue to do this, he might bite you. NEVER put your face that close to a dogs face unless you know for sure he wants you there. If he puts his face close to you and licks you, this is usually a sign that your are allowed in his space also. I had a dog for 16 years, a very loving dog, but he hated to be kissed on. He loved affection and was very affectionate, but some dogs just don't want you in their faces.

When you blow your breath in a dog's face, it makes them not being able to breath. It takes there breath away. I hope this helps you a lot.

Blowing in a dog's face is aggressive "dogspeak" (dog body language). Some dogs become used to it as puppies and for them it means playtime with their owners. Others never do and will react with resentment, fear or anger. If your dog doesn't like it, don't do it. You may get bitten in the face as a result.

It not only takes their breath away but some will actually snap at you in the face. Not a smart thing to do or allow, especially for small children.

Well if someone came up to your face and blew, would you like it... No! It'll probably you off. Also you probably can't breathe for a second or two either. So when you do that to your dog, then he or she, can't breathe for a second or two like us.
So anyways... Don't intaganize your dog by blowing in his/her face!
