There have been some interesting proposals to fine corporations that knowingly hire illegals. I read that the poultry industry is a particularly bad violator of immigration law. But I always got the feeling that most illegals were migrant laborers/day laborers and thus hard to track down. Does anyone know what percentage of illegals actually work for corporations?

Corporations, at least here in Arkansas. Tyson Foods, Inc. has more than 60% of their workers as illegal aliens. Yeah, it's a HUGE corporation, and the #1 employer in the state. If you don't believe me, check it out. It's true.

A local tire dealer got in trouble two weeks ago, when he hired a new mechanic without checked out the paperwork. (We are in Connecticut).

It is unfortunate, that as illegals; there might be a tendency to break other laws of the land. First it starts with Tax Evasion. Then it continues with petty theft and scams. Then it gets into burglary.

Sure there are some illegals that come to America for the promise of the American way of life. There are many educated people that have been waiting for a proper visa. Doctors, lawyers, family members that want to get reunited.

There are a lot of day laborers. However, agribusiness is huge, and complaining that construction is stealing all its illegal aliens, so when [if] the guest worker program goes into effect there need to be special rules saying that if you come in under the agriculture program you have to stay in agriculture for 5 years. I think corporations that big are taking up the bulk of illegal immigrant jobs. However, that still leaves a bunch to stand outside of Home Depot for handyman jobs.

12 to 20 million people is a lot of people.

In California, where we have much agriculture, they are mostly working as day/migrant laborers. I know that some corps do this too, but not with Mexicans, but people from Vietnam and India. By seeing the number of people working in the fields and doing sh!t jobs like digging ditches and working as janitors (which would be a corporate job) I would have to guess we have anywhere from 100,000 to 500,000 illegal people living and working in California alone. They probably have a similar number in Texas where they also have a lot of agriculture.

all business, "who delivers the mail?" Wake up call, you need to be a citizen to work for the government. DUH!!!
I don't really know if you could find statistics on who hires illegals more. They aren't exactly going to go around advertising their status to people. There are some companies that get turned in more than others like Walmart and Tyson. But just as many are probably getting taken advantage of as housekeepers, nannies, or doing yard work for individual Americans.

Where my sister works there was a tsunami scare. Not to sound racist, but every man of hispanic origon dissappeared, while the white-non-hispanic workers stayed at risk to their lives to keep the mill running.
Later due to government crackdowns it was found that at a mill of 300 workers total, 60 were fired for using the same social security number.
These men fled across the border to Mexico.
Changed their name and returned to work in three months.
So, 60 out of 300 men, that's almost 1/3 the workforce of that particular mill.
My sister was told "if you dont like your job, quit, there's a million Mexican's that will take your place".

There is totally not an exodus to China. China has obviously reformed its tax procedure this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and has diminished the tax incentives accessible to global investors. Tax is in undemanding words one economic element of many that are seen through way of global investors, in any case. apart from, the fee of doing commerce in China is going to be a helluva lot more effective at the same time as america dollar loses truly worth right away. there's a lot more effective taking position than in simple terms tax coverage.

It was in the news not to long ago they were even in government positions. Like everyone else they are working all kinds of jobs.

Farming counts the fewest by the way. Big corporation farms hire them and it adds up to squat compared to others.

Who cleans the toilets? Who delivers the mail? Who cooks in the cafeterias? Who cleans the offices? Do you really think all this is sublet? An estimated guess, only on the illegals, 50%.

I've read a statistic that says only 30% or less are migrant workers. I saw that I believe on Foxnews.
