I'm naturally skinny and I eat quite a lot of food, and I would just like to gain some more weight becomes I'm definately on the lower ends of the BMI index graphs. It's not like I don't eat, I just don't gain any pounds. The extra weight would help a little in some of the sports I play. Thanks.

Eat foods with lots of carbs and then take a nap. Try to eat somewhat healthy carbs though, like in pastas and breads. Try to avoid the sugary candy though. I know a lot of people that that's helped. But also be sure to try and add some muscle-weight to that. Muscle weighs more than fat. So do some free weight excercises. Start out light and work your way up. Look online for a good excercise and diet plan, or you can also look for books in your local library that you can photocopy pages if you want. They will offer tons of good ideas for you. Be patient though and don't try to hurry weight gain or you can get hurt (hernia, etc). Results should show in 1-3 months. But whatever you do, DO NOT resort to any kind of supplemental crap like pills and protein shakes and stuff because more often then not, they don't work, and many times people get really sick from them. (Think the "Beefcake" episode from South Park, lol)

Good luck!!!!!

Mate i had the same problem, high metabolism. I went to a nutritionist and set up a diet. Its basically eat alot of calories, eat high protein foods, (meats) and carbs (pasta and breads). However just eating wont help you gain weight, you have to accompany this with exercises, weight lifting etc. When doing this don't lift within yourself, do heavy weights with less reps (8 -10). Cardio stuff is still important as your body will need to cope with the weight your gaining and it helps you avoid gaining fat and not muscle. And if you still struggle protein shakes are a really great way to boost your protein intake. It is a slow process, it took me 7-8 months to gain the weight that i wanted.

I have the same problem, I had cancer a few years ago and the doctors had to remove my thyroid so I have to take thyroid replacement daily. I have always been small, kind of a runt and I eat like a horse, if I don't then I am constantly losing weight, I have to really watch it or I will lose several pounds without trying in fact I have to try just to maintain my weight of about 110 lbs. I drink shakes like ensure everyday at least one of them, I also love ice cream so I usually eat ice cream everyday. I try to have 5 or 6 small meals a day and always a bedtime snack. I am not saying for you to eat more junk food--don't--just try to increase your calorie intake everyday. I drink whole milk not 2% or skim, I like chocolate milk you can add calories in a lot of small ways but just add them everyday. Hope this helps, trust me no one wants to hear how to gain weight and it usually just makes people mad when you tell them, they always say "I wish I had that problem!" Good luck--eat more--eat healthy.

Go to GNC or even Walmart or Target and buy some of that powdered weight gain drink mix. Also drink some ensure in between meals and eat some icecream about 2 times a week.

Eat lots of food, especially protein based foods and foods with lots of carbs lift lots of weights at least 3 to 4 times per week, if you aren't already lifting weights, start at a comfortable weight, then work your way up to heavier weights, lifting heavy allows you to put on mass, your body will need vitamins so be sure to take vitamin supplements and most importantly, get plenty of rest, take like one or two days out of the week to rest, you should see results in a couple of months, so be patient.

Yeah, that is the same way with me.

You should try to eat more, but healthy, foods that provide high calories - try to take maybe 2000 calories or more a day. But, make sure you don't gain over 1-2 pounds per week - otherwies it is bad for your health. (oh and don't stop excercising - it will make you gain bad weight)

Take the healthy way to lose weight and reverse one item. Exersize and eat more. It isn't as obvious, but exersize helps you gain because you will loose fat and gain muscle and muscle weighs more.

Consult with a physician about how much you need to eat for the desired weight you want and consult with a Gym about what exersizes better gain bulk instead of cardio.

you have the same problem i always had....high metabolism. If they sell Ensure where you are that's good to gain weight from cause it's got a lot of calories in it. Other than that, I don't know what to tell ya. Anyways, if you can try that, go for it...hope that helps.

I heard that peanutbutter and honey sandwiches work quite well (so I have to avoid them!). Also eat a healthy diet and perform exercises suitable for the sports you enjoy. Remember that metabolism can adjust to conserve on a sparse diet or to spend on an excess calorie diet. Good luck.
