i was the same way in 9th grade i started working out in 10th grade and continued all throghout high school my senior year i was decently big but judging by the way u sound like u sound like u no nothing about body building so i dont no if u have the motivation that u need working out for growth isnt easy u need to spend at least an hour per body part and eat a ton of protien the more protien you eat the more protien goes to your muscles and the bigger they get a good meal of protien would be 10 hard boiled eggs tahts including whites and yellows thats what i have for breakfast its good to work out in the middle of the day so that u can get protien before and after workout id say that judging by your description it would take a few months to see any posotive gains but it also depends upon your bone structure if you have tiny wrists and small bones in your arms you can only grow a certain amount but thats the distant future i would say it would take a few years to reach your arms full potential you should start out with weights that you can do 12 reps with just to provide a foundation for muscle growth then after a few weeks upgrade to a weight you can only do 8 reps with because the more weight u use the more youll grow

Big weights would be the way to go. More weight, less reps. If you work hard, I would say it could happen 3-5 weeks.

Here are some books that come in handy for working out:
Home Workout Bible

The Abs Diet http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1594862168/qid=1150767413/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/102-3168730-6703342?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

Magazines:
Men's Health

I get the women's Health Mag and my fiance gets the Men's Health mag. It has alot of great information and a different workout in a series in each issue.

first, be glad you're thin. Secondly no age given, you could just be going theough a "lanky" stager. thirdly, you don't really need "big" muscles. Look at Bruce lee. You can have lean muscles that look as good. Forth, join a gym and talk to a trainer and go for whatever best suits you.

You'll probably start seeing a change within a few weeks, just join a gym and explain to a trainer what your goals are. He will set up a program for you to follow and walk you through it so you know how to do each exercise and don't injure yourself.

It takes time and effort but you'll see results in a few months. Start slow or you'll hurt so badly that you won't keep it up. Consider joining a gym and go regularly.
