It depends on what state you live in.Some states the legal consent age is 16. Check your state laws all you will have to do is call the police dept and ask. If that don't work whop his *** for being near her and hers for thinking she was even old enough to have a relationship with a man that age. Any man that age that is wanting a relationship with a 17 year old child has issues and he does not need to be around your baby.

Yes. In most states, 16 is the legal age of consent as long as the person over 18 isn't more than 4 years older than the minor. I was 17 and my fiance was 20 when we started dating. I looked into these laws a lot. We've been together nearly 4 years and I think the law is still the same

I varies state to state, but I am a 28 year old dude and that is RIDICULOUS. No good 28 year old man would be up to something like that.

Quick Story:

My ex inlaws were in sorta the same situation with my exwife's little sister. The dude was 25 and the sister'n law was 17. The father'n law wanted to put a stop to it, but the mother'n law was afraid they would push their daughter away if they interfered. Well, unfortunately, the mother'n law won that fight. Long story short, she ended up pregnant; the dude never talked to her after he found out she was pregnant; Now, she is 20 with a 3 year old kid, has never seen a dime of child support and has a fatherless daughter.

That is just 1 story. I know there are many others that go differently.

Have you talked to this man? Does your daughter have a father, step father, grandfather, older brother, uncle...any older male in her life that cares about her? If so, has he talked to the dude? Violence is never the answer. I am in no way suggesting having a man threaten him.

I think it would be highly effective if you and/or other family members had a 1 on 1 talk with this man. Matter of fact, it may be more effective than going to law enforcement first. If family has no influence on this dude, than he is a sociopath with no conscious, and law enforcement must be brought in to the picture. Hopefully, he just needs a wake up call.

I know it is tough. Your daughter may be upset with you. She may be more than upset with you. I don't know, but I do know that you don't want to be in my exfather'n laws position. He blames himself for not doing all that he could, even against his wife's wishes.

17 is a tough age for parents and children. It is the ultimate "battle" age between adult responsibility and child-like needs. For parents, it is like the last battle before the end of the war. Don't give up on the battle. Your daughter will thank you for it later, trust me!

Once again, no good 28 year old man would be after a 17 year old girl. I literally have 100's of colleagues, highschool friends and fraternity brothers that are that exact same age, and none of us would do it, wouldn't even think about it. It is just unacceptable. If this guy had friends, they wouldnt allow him to do this. Does he have parents? Do they know? No good parent would condone that. That is CRAZY! I realize it is more common that any of us would like to admit, but common does not make it right. There are no excuses or rationalizations that can make this acceptable. It is unacceptable.

Do whatever it takes to keep this guy away from your daughter and your daughter away from him. You have very little control over him, but you do her. Talk to him. Talk to her. Let them both know that if talking does not work, then legal action is coming...and is coming faster than they know.

Good luck.

You'd have to prove they were having sex which is unlikely without your daughters cooperation also many states the age of consent is 16, with a young woman of 17 in with 18as the age of consent unless the state has hard evidence pregnancy, photos, etc. they can not prosecute . Your daughter is alot closer to 18 than 17 as time moves forward. I'd develop a good adult relationship with her now one that will continue for many years to come.

Not likely but check your state law. However you should be wary of any relationship between a 28 year old man and your 17 year old daughter. He probably is controlling and perhaps abusive.

YES, he can get into a heap of trouble. It's better for your daughter to wait until she's over 18 and of legal age.

That depends. Some consider 17 legal age. My son's boyfriend (age 19) was dating a 15 yr. old. I called DFS and was told that after age 14 she can date him. You're the parent. Why is this guy interested in a 17 yr. old? Seems kinda sick to me.

sincerely talking, and legally talking, yes a lot of troubles, in the united states of america, the laws of each state are different, even though, no one underage can be with an adult or marry him or have any kind of sexual relationship, the parent and adult that see them tougether can report this and the man, can get in serious troubles, and the underage comeout without any charge, i recomend that she wait until 18 to have any kind of relationship with an older man of any age....
