regurgitation

acid reflux is exactly that ,when acid fluid is coming up.
otherwise called regurgitation and is related to feeding habits liking eating till the stomach is overstretched , or lying down immediatly after eating. also a big tummy and wearing tight clothes are implicated.
some foods like onions also some medicines like sedatives (benzodiazepines) increase this problem by relaxing the upper stomach or lower esophageal sphincter (the muscle that controls what passes to and from the stomach)

the same process is involved in GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease) where acid comes up the esophagus and burns the tissue causing severe pain ,heartburn, coughing and vomiting.
maybe you should take some steps to prevent that from happening.

It is GERD--Gastrointestinal reflux disease. It is a serious condition that can damage your throat and lead to cancer. Go see an ENT or Gatroenterologist about this to get proper medication. I have it and didn't think much about it at first--till I had to have a growth removed from my vocal cords!
