What is Amblyopia (lazy eye)?
Amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye, is the eye condition noted by reduced vision not correctable by glasses or contact lenses and is not due to any eye disease. The brain, for some reason, does not fully acknowledge the images seen by the amblyopic eye. This almost always affects only one eye but may manifest with reduction of vision in both eyes. It is estimated that three percent of children under six have some form of amblyopia.

Hope this helps you a little

I have a lazy eye. It is when one eye stays straight and one goes off to the side by itself. I have had it for 22 years now. Some people just can not accept it but a lot of people it doesn't bother at all. I wish that I could fix mine but I really don't think that there is any fixing it, so if people don't like it than they don't have to look at me. I actually had crossed eyes when I was born, then I had surgery on them when I was 5 years old and the Dr did not do it right and I have been like this every since. It is not fun at all sometimes. Gonna try and go to the Dr and see I if can't get it fixed again.

I had surgery on a lazy eye or in my case "wandering eye" when I was about 18. I could see out of both eyes but one was more dominant than the other. When I was tired one eye would not follow along as quickly as the other, causing double-vision. The surgery entailed disconnecting a muscle and reattaching it. I don't know exactly how it worked and in fact it wasn't completely successful. I still get a lazy eye or can make it wander by trying. There is most likely a better surgery now than there was back in 1985 when I had mine.

I have a lazy eye.
There are a couple of definitions for it.
My one eye lid droops a little more then the other. It's no big deal and most people don't even notice it.
My cousin has an eye the kinda floats around in the socket and you never can tell where it is looking. This can be corrected with surgery.

Well, I am not sure why it is in singles and dating, but a lazy eye is when one eye does not focus like the other one but looks slightly off to one side. It is often corrected by wearing a patch on the good eye, thus forcing the other eye to work hard (and get over being lazy!)

A lazy eye is a muscle problem. It means that in whatever eye , lets say the left that the muscle is weak. That means that when you are looking at someone that left eye is not on them while the right eye is. You can train a lazy eye by doing exercises everyday.

Both of those first two answers are incorrect. I had a lazy eye when I was younger and had to have corrective surgery on it.
Basically the little muscles in the corner of your eye pull the eye in toward your nose so you can't see out of the corner of your eye. For example, my lazy eye was the left one so if I wanted to see something that was to my left, I had to turn my head to see it as I couldn't see it out of the corner of my eye.
It's best to have it corrected as soon as possible because it's not safe to drive with one and such as that.
Why is this in the singles and dating category though?

I had a teacher with this problem, and it is super creepy. a lazy eye is one that points in a different direction than what the person is looking at. for instance, it looks like they're looking over your shoulder with one eye but they're talking directly to you and focusing on you. generally, it's called a lazy eye because the eye gets strained and no longer has the muscular strength to point in the proper direction.
It's alarming, and you never know if they see you or if they're looking at something else entirely!
