Absolutely not. It is so out of step with what people in this country want (deportation of all illegals, an end to illegal immigration, a restrict reduction of legal immigration) that the senate bill representing Bush's plan is essentially dead in the water.

Bush's plan is probably the best out there right now, but its not perfect. The problem is that because this is such a hot issue there will probably be no consensus and nothing will get done.
His move to activate the guard could be excelent one. As long as they are effective and we can in fact secure our borders with their temporary help within the next couple of years, then I see the Republicans backing off on enforcement and talking about guest worker programs and other boons for businesses and immigrants alike.

The immigration issue needed to be addressed so long ago that now it's almost too late to do anything about it. I'm glad Bush is pioneering some action, but the action isn't very aggressive yet. There are people who are here who did it legitimately and those are the people we need to protect. Right on target? No. At least we're on the range.

Now it is enforced? I think there are about 50 guardsmen in Arizona who got there Sunday, actually on the job.
The National Guard is a smokescreen since they can't do anything, and will leave nothing behind but bills when they leave. We need REAL border security and a limited immigration policy.
The laws in Congress haven't gone anywhere, and having nothing is far better than the one in the Senate, so I'm ok with that. We do need border security and enforcement of existing laws, however.

easily, even if i'm a Bush-hating liberal, his immigration plan is the in undemanding words element i imagine he's executed from an wise, suggested element of view. he's easily wide-spread unlawful immigrants, worked with them, and having been contained in the oil organisation previously Reagan's amnesty, he probable employed them. He is conscious that they are component of our economic device, and that at the moment, they paintings for far below a citizen does, no longer in simple terms in decrease wages. they do no longer have an same get precise of entry to to social amenities that a citizen does. in the journey that they pay lease, they pay resources taxes same to a citizen, yet with a lot less possibility to ever own somewhat of resources themselves. They pay sales taxes. they could no longer pay income taxes, yet they make below a citizen does after taxes, doing an same pastime. the human beings who employ them illegally are the actual criminals the following - they actual use those determined human beings as slaves. Bush's plan ought to help to end this.

No way. Obviously there are still too many fat, white rich guys who want mexicans to keep down their labor cost. A complete shutdown of the border, along with active deportation and also using the IRS to penalize employers who dont have SS numbers to match their employees.

Yes, Bush and Fox are both in tune to the needs of Mexico at the expense of Americans.
I can't wait for november.
Don't you think if they both wanted illegal immigration to end they would both do it? Very effective legal means are tying our boys hands down there.

No, it is a terrible plan, that he conceived overnite. His propasal caters to everyone, is some small way. He is trying to please everyone all at one time, and that just won't work on this issue. His proposal doe not reflect what the American people want, and by American people, I mean Natural born citizens and Legal immigrants.
