I used to think God hated women but through study and prayer I learned that we are created equal. Jesus loves me like he loves my husband! In fact women tend to sometimes be more spiritually sensitive. It is our nature to pay more attention to detail then most men. A lot of times we as women seek God's companionship a little harder. Now of course there are plenty of men that do the same. Ask God to show you the answer to your question he'll be glad to guide you through.

I don't know where Christians get this idea that women are not on the same plane as men.
Yes I know, women are to submit to the authority of the man.
If only they would read further they would find as the man submits to Christ.
Also, just a thought, God created woman so man would not be alone and have a help mate. it would seem that the very concept of help mate means the man and woman are working side by side. Or more plainly, she's not a slave.
Actually she is a precious gift from God.
Not a possession but a gift none the less and should be cherished and nurtured as such.
but then the man that submits to the authority of Christ understands this.

The Bible doesn't say that everyone is equal, that was a politician, not a writer in the Bible. The Bible does teach the equality of men and women, but with different responsibilities. The fact that a person is a slave does not make them unequal to their owner, but they have different responsibilities. A master has biblical responsibilities just as slaves do but in God all are equal as the book of Galatians says, Male and female, Jew and Gentile, slave or freeman etc.

Not all sects of christianity view women as lesser. Though the church I grew up in did. (Women are to keep silent and support their husbands - not much to bring to the table except for food and yes sirs) Gnostic christianity believes that Mary Magdalen was Christ's most loved disciple. (not necessarily married mind you) Even though I am not a Christian, I do treasure the Bible and I basically ignore the whole thing about women's inferiority. Remember Christ allowed all to follow him, he forgives all, and loves all. I seriously doubt that Jesus would tell women to hush up. He was the one that marched into temples and preached heresy.

First, you need to provide quotes for both of what you're saying, because I wouldn't say it says either of those things.
But yes, it does call women the weaker vessel. At least on some level, that's true, as women are on the whole, physically weaker than men. That's just the way of the universe. I'm not saying that's what that verse is talking about, but when the Bible talks about differences between sexes, that's just a fact - we are different.

The NKJ and OKJ say "weaker vessel", but the word could just as easily be translated "more fragile". No offense intended, ladies, but gender as a whole, men tend to be bulkier and clumsier and stronger: if they were furniture, they would more closely resemble ottomans than delicate paintings; whereas the fairer gender tends toward qualities of a higher degree of gentile, and would be more comparable to fine crystal. When you have fine crystal, you display it in a protected place, or a place of honor, and you watch over it and take care of it. The ottoman, on the other hand, is built for abuse, and it is expected to take quite a bit of it. Get the picture?
Men who seek power abuse the intent of Scripture to 'claim' something God has not given them. The words immediately preceding and following this say:
"Likewise you husbands, dwell with them with understanding, giving HONOR to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being HEIRS TOGETHER OF THE GRACE OF LIFE, that your prayers be not hindered."
Seems pretty clear to me.

Feeling inferior is a choice to make...but should not be based on
biblical interpretation. Mary, although meek and humble, was the mother of Jesus. The holy spirit asked the humble and lowly Mary if she would be the mother of Jesus. Mary was with Jesus to the very end and she is a exemplary model to all people.
Also, feeling weak and vulnerable is a way to experience the mercy of God. Paul in his letters remarks that it is his imperfections and weaknessess that allow him to find a path to God. " My imperfections make me perfect"
St Francis and Mother Theresa wrote much about the same. It is in our knowing that we are meek that allows us to open ourselves to God's love.
In the Beautitudes Jesus comments that the meek and humble shall inherit the earth.

God must be a man, tough luck. If you want to be a first class human, grow a penis (book of revelations 6:66). If it would make you feel any better, I as an atheist see you as an equal.

Each were designed by God for thier specific duties and funtions in life. it does not make one better just different.
They are equal in the way God loves and judges them, but are also obviously different in design. In the perfect relationship man is to be the head of the family, but also loving the family as christ loved the church, so that means the man would also not do anything harmful.
So they are equal but seperate with different roles.

women used to be the sacred one because they are able to give life but then stupid men turned it around, it's just one of the many reasons why i don't believe in the bible, it's all lies. Women should not feel inferior to men because we are all equal.
