Please don't respond with X chromosomal information. Please don't respond if you don't believe in creationism a la Adam and Eve. I know the scientific reason. Please don't explain that to me. I don't believe in creationsim - I just want to be amused with the logic of those who believe in creationism. If you believe that women were created in man's image, then why did Adam have nipples?

I think you're answering your own question. You say that, according to creationism, women were created in man's image, which would mean that man existed before woman, which in turn would mean that Adam already had nipples and therefore Eve was created with nipples (in his image), but with breasts to feed her babies.

So, logically, men have nipples because they descend from Adam, who was created with nipples.

lol, I love this question. It usually indicates a very simple-minded athiest (though, not always... but usually.)

anyways, some interesting answers have been offered. Here's my thoughts:
Who knows? Who cares? Why do we have to know or understand every aspect of what g-d created? Why do people have hair? Why 2 arms and 2 legs? Why 5 fingers on each hand? I have no idea, and quite frankly, I don't really care that much either.
The fact that we don't have an answer doesn't mean there isn't one. It could be something so complex and philosophcial that we can't imagine the answer. It could be something related to science that we've yet to discover. It could just be that he wanted us to look more similar and he was "lazy". It just doesn't matter.

But let me ask you, according to evolution, why do men have nipples? evolutionary theory predicts that genes that do not add function to a species will be weeded out because they're a waste of resources. So, why do men have nipples?

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Women and Men were both created in God's image, they both reflect him in different ways.

Obviously when God created man, he created our development too, and until babies are of a certain age in development in the womb they really don't have a gender, nipples and the clitoral glands are two of the "unisex" parts that develop in the early stages of a child.

Later these parts develop for their functions, the clitoral glands form into the penis in a man and does not fully develop until puberty (pubic change is only evident in uncircumcised males) and kind of get left over on women like nipples on men. The nipples; however, do not truly develop in a woman until puberty, and then again during a woman's first pregnancy.

Because of the hormones induced during puberty the "leftover" parts from the other gender can still have stimulating feelings.

Oh one other thing, Adam and Eve resembled us completely except for one thing, they probably didn't have navels (belly-buttons) because they were never bourne from a womb. Unless God gave them one anyways.

Thats like asking why do we have an adams apple, thier probably isnt a reason, but think of this. Women was made from the rib taken from Adam so, maybe, Eve has nipples because Adam does, and God in his wisdom and planning made it so that women could lactate from them.

They DO serve a purpose for adult males - and for his or her different halves. different halves pick to play with their husband's nipples in simple terms as a lot as husband's pick to play with their wive's nipples. that is a turn-on for both the guy and the female. perchance you need to brush up on your body structure.

I like your question, but have no answer. I do believe that the universe and life within it were created, because in my 66 years of living I haven't seen anything create itself.
