I have long hair and it used to be curly, but as it grows out (now to my lower back) the curls are straightening out towards the top and wavy in the middle and now my hair is only curly towards the bottoms. Do you have any suggestions on how to get my hair curly again?

I have the same EXACT PROBLEM to get your hair curl but some really nice gel that says use for curly or wavy hair so when your hair is wet rub through you hair while your head is upside down and also while scrunching it and your hair will look really curly and really pretty.

Your hair is straighter at the roost and curlier towards the ends because the weight of your hair is pulling the curl out. There are a few things you can do to solve your problem. The most obvious is get a haircut. it does not have to be a dramatic cut just a light trim will put the bounce back into your curls.
Another solution is to use the correct products. I cannot stress enough that using products designed for your hair is essential to getting the desired style. Use shampoo and conditioner for curly hair. The gentle cleansers and rich moisturizers put life into curl. But don't forget about styling aids. Use a mousse on your hair to help control the curl and when it is about 80% dry use a curl creme to define those waves.

well when i was younger my hair was semi curly i guess. but right now my hair is really long like to my lowerrrr back. and my mom told me that it pulls the curls out the longer you go the less the curls. so for you i would say i know you might like your long hair but if you want natural curls again cut it off a lil. it'll grow back. or you can always curl it with a curling iron. but that sux doesn't it? thought so too time consuming fo us with long hair also the curls might just fallout ne ways cuz the weight of the hair. for same reason i doesn't curl naturally ne more. so you could always go with the last option. perm. may work but can sometimes damage your hair if done to much. just look at the past permings....does 80's ring ne bells? i know you don't want that curly hair but the point is is you don't want to perm too much cuz then your hair will be fried! frizzy , easy breakage, ugly. go do what you want hope you will have a happy hair day!!!!!

That is because of the weight of your hair, as it grows longer it gets heavier so it straightens out from the root to the middle section, if you want to keep your bouncy curls you neet to get a shorter haircut and layers, long layers would be the best, I have super long curly hair, a little below middle back and I'm thinking on cutting to have better curls, nothing extreme, 3 inches would do it for me. Good Luck.

I have long curly hair. I usually shower at night and then french braid my hair after putting some sort of frizz cream on it. It dries during the night and when I wake up in the morning it's really soft and has shiny loose curls all the way down.

Lucky you. My hair is down to my back and it is so curly. A couple of years ago it was soft beautiful curls, now I can't control it. But it you really want to have the evil curls you can get a perm (sorry, can't spell, i have no idea if htat is right)

The longer your hair is the more wieght is pulling at your hair, making it straighter and less curly. Try gettting some long layers to make it curl up again.

The shorter you cut your hair, the more curly it will be.
If you still want long hair try layering it some or just cutting it a small amount. If you go to a hair dresser as them what they think. Hope this helps.

Don't know but your hair is wavy not curly and you get it curly by using curl iron or rollers.

As long as its cut well and washed regularly, it sounds nice. And remember Justin Timberlake in N*Sync back in the 90s? He had curly hair and all the girls loved him lol.
