It's usually considered proper for the couple to open the gifts after the wedding, and very very tacky for them to do so at the reception. Send it to their home address and they'll send you a lovely thank you note when they return from the honeymoon.

Don't send the gift to the ship, they will only have to try to carry it in their luggage. Send it to their home ahead of time.
