He has been put under tylenol. But has been running for low tempeture for 10 days. Initially, he is suspected of phemonia, but chest x ray showed nothing. He doesn't have any complaints of pain in the body except headeache. Feels weak, muscle pain, is this normal? Is this flu or inflamation in the body? What is the best way to diagnose or treat it? He is in the early 70s. Thank you for your tips.

I say take him to a doctor right away. I'm not even near being a professional but that doesn't sound good.

Fever shows that the body is doing its part on fighting an infection in the body (both major and minor infections) It could take even another week for his body to fight off the infection since he is older, his immune system is probably not as strong as it use to be. Symptons are really what matters and if he doesn't have any then you shouldn't worry that much. If it continues for a long time it could be viral so you should have him checked out.
I'm not in the healthcare yet, still a medical student. -just to let you know to help you decide on taking my advice.

Don't worry about it. It is what is called "A fever of unknown origin." It usually lasts 2 to 3 weeks and has no lasting affects.

He might have a virus...if in the next couple days the fever doesn't go away the dr's may have to do more than x-rays....don't worry it sounds like a virus...but ALWAYS check with your DR!!!

Have you heard of taking him to the doctor??? do you have the time or money?? The doctor could probably tell you what is wrong!!!! Tylenol is maybe not helping.
