How can "the son of G-d" be wrong? The Messianic Era did not start with his death on the cross..

He told 1 man only that he would see the Kingdom before he died, and that was the Apostle John, aka John the Beloved of Christ. As the only Apostle not martyred, he lived to seal the canon of scripture with the Book of Revelation (Apocalypse). He DID see the Kingdom, and wrote about it.

Jesus did, however, say that there would come a generation which would witness certain signs (like the rebirth of the nation Israel, the rebuilding of the temple) and that THIS generation would not pass before Messiah returns. And they are getting pretty old indeed. (Matthew 24,25)

No you're reffering to John who was exiled to an island. He was talking about his return to earth and saying that perhaps John might be around to see it too. The Messianic era started when Jesus started doing signs and wonders you're right but he didn't say that "the people" would see it. All of this is in the book of John.

When Jesus was talking to the people in his time and told them that they would see the "Kingdom of God" in their time, it was a metephore, Jesuse meant Himself, He is a part of the Kingdom of God.

Sons of Gods...especially of the human variety, have a nasty habit of making a lot of mistakes and empty promises.

He wasn't the son of god because god doesn't exist. If Jesus existed, he was nothing more than a normal person.
