When people say they believe in God, it normally means they admit He exists. When they say they believe in Jesus, they normally mean they have accepted Him as their Savior, they believe that His payment was enough.
But, Jesus is God; they are just different parts of the Trinity. There only one God, but He has three functions: God the Father--the Creator, Judge; God the Son--Jesus, the Redeemer or Messiah; and God the Holy Spirit--the Interceder, Comforter. Most people illustrate the Trinity with a triangle--one shape with three different corners-- but no one fully understands it.

Yes and no you're not confused. There are many people around the world that believe in a God and don't even know of Jesus. Be true to your self, you know what you believe. Peace be with you. :)

Jesus is like a 'mainline connection' to the Creator.
A short cut.
There are so many paths and Jesus simplified the whole trip.
Personally I like to express my gratitude for Jesus sacrificing his life. But, even then I realize it is not neccessary to believe in Jesus to talk to God...it's just more convenient to use Jesus as an intercessor.

Muslims believe that He became in undemanding words a prophet and in undemanding words a guy. no longer Divine or the Son of God. Muslims even believe that Jesus became born to a virgin mom. and could go back to save mankind. yet no longer that He has any divinity. Why is that? He executed many miracles. And rose from the useless. God allowed that each and each one to ensue. by His Father He ought to do all of it. He became/is a lot more effective than only a prophet. Muslims and Christians haven't any further some thing in basic.

Believing in God is a sensible decision.
Islam too believes in Jesus .. but does not mingle him with the qualities of God. Islam makes sense in this regard and you will not be confuse
Unfortunately, many Christians pray to jesus, but Jesus taught to pray to God and worship God alone
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
”. There is not a single statement in the entire Bible where Jesus (peace be upon him) himself says, "worship me".
Luke 4:8."Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve"
Notice the words: "Him ONLY." Jesus did not say "US only," or "Him and I only."
John 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth
Notice: "worship the FATHER," not "worship the Father AND THE SON." Also notice: "worship HIM" not "worship US" or "worship ME."
How could Jesus (pbuh) possibly make it more clear than that? What abstract meaning are we now going to concoct for this verse to show that what Jesus "really" meant was "worship BOTH of us"? but unfortunately many Christians today worship Jesus (pbuh). Because of lack of knowledge of scripture or because of misguidance. Or may be because of extreme love towards Jesus (pbuh) . We muslims still love Jesus (pbuh) too. But why should a person deviate from the truth and disobey Jesus. When Jesus (pbuh) clearly said,
"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" Luke 6:46:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"Say: He is God, The One and Only. "God, the Eternal, Absolute.
"He begets not, nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him."
[Quran 112:1-4]
xxxxxxxxxxxx
QURAN (5:75) "Christ the son of Mary was no more than an Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!"

Yes, a big difference between God the Father vs God the Son=Jesus!
God the Father is the Absolute Truth and Creator of the Material and Spiritual world. He is The Supreme Personality of God!
Jesus Christ was sent by His Father to a troubled world to help teach love-compassion and to help people to rise out of darkness of the era, including out of the "eye for an eye" mentality of the Old Testament. He also taught us about service, community, forgiveness, all components of the Walk of Christianity.
Most Chrisitans are more focused on Jesus, hopefully learn more than just ABOUT Him. They hopefully learn how to follow what He taught us. But most of them know-acknowledge that Jesus talked about His Father a lot too. Jesus is a way to God the Father!
Catholics focus on Three Persons in One God: God the Father, Jesus the Son, AND the Holy Spirit.....these Three are the Holy Trinity.
Devotional service and love for Jesus in Christianity-Catholicism can help to teach us how to love-serve-glorify God the Father. Having a deep, intimate, personal relationship with God the Father and or God the Son teaches us some of the highest spiritual truths-lessons-practices about devotion we need to learn. It's how deep and personal and intimate we can be with Them (do we really KNOW, LOVE and SERVE them?) and this sort of devotion is separate and DEEPER than weekly or daily ritualistic prayers memorized or performed because we are "supposed to" memorize-say something and practice it. It is doing these things because "we love and want to know and serve Him-Them better." It is not the "practice," it is REALLY doing what the practices eventually taught us after we did it with sincerity and a genuine clean heart. Most people notice that it takes years of practicing something over and over rather robotically that there is finally "something" (grace) that starts to sink in....it is no longer practice! You are actually LIVING it and doing it for Them with a genuinely devoted heart, not for yourself or for any other "human authority" who told you to obey, and do this, "or else"!

Firstly, Thank you for allowing me to respond to this Question.
secondly, with reguard to your Question. you may be asking because you are in doubt. which is completely normal.
because if you go to anyone and ask them to explain to you the trinity, they will not be able to give you an adequete answer.
Never once did Jesus (peace be upon him) claim to be God. If you look into the bible, if you have a red lettered one that highlights supposedly what Jesus has said, than never once will you find that he told his people to worship him. On the contrary, he said "Worship Thy Father Alone" i.e. worship God Alone.
Third of All, In Islam we believe in Jesus as a highly respected Prophet of Allah (God). just like Moses, Adam, Abraham, Noah, etc.
They All came with the same message : To worship the creator Alone.
Indeed, it is very blasphemous to say that Jesus Is God.
#1. Jesus was A human, and everyone will agree upon that. meaning he ate, slept, used the bathroom, etc. Things that Muslims Believe are not attributes fit for the Lord of the Universe, because he is free of all needs.
#2. The Christians believed that Jesus died on the Cross. How can God Die? if that were the case, than how can it be that he would be on the cross saying "Why have you forsaken me" to the one who is in heaven, if they were one in the same. and how is it that He knew he would die, but didnt know at the same time?
and if he died for 3 days, who was God during those 3 days?
nothing makes sense.
but everything in Islam Makes sense. wouldnt it be more logical that he were a Righteous Prophet of God, rather than God himself?
If you believe
1. that there is no object worthy of worship but Allah (God)
2. you believe in the angles
3. Heaven and hell
4. The Books that came before (the Old testament, Gospels, Quran)
5. you believe in the all the Prophets of God starting from Adam, including Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, and Muhammad peace be upon all of them)
and finally
6. Divine decree.
than welcome to Islam.
Finally, if you do not wish to listen to anything i've said, at least do one thing which you have nothing to lose.
Seek guidance from God himself to guide you on the strait path, and see where it leads you.
I Swear by Allah, that if you Sincerely and whole-heartedly ask Him for Guidance to the truth. He will lead you to it.
you have nothing you lose.
I ask God to guide you all to the truth. ameen.

Most Christians have a hard time with this one. Think of it this way, we all have multiple facets to our personalities. We handle issues differently depending on the role we are in - at work, with family, with close friends. Why would we think the one who created us would be different? The Father, The Son and The Spirit, all have the same bootm line, but arrive there different ways.
