Middle School, huh??? You sound like your going thru the "change", not going into 6th grade.....

Never mind, I digress.

Dump the boyfriend; Why tie yourself down to one guy when you have a whole new school full of guys to choose from??? Of course, they are all middle school guys, so not a single one of them is going to ask you out. Sorry. They're too busy with their videogames and other boy-type things. The only guys that are going to ask you out now are all old enough to go to jail for asking you out.

As far as the friends thing goes; it's a whole new school, make a bunch of new friends. Everybody there is just as nervous as you, so all of you have something in common.

I kept all of my friends when I went on to middle and high school. I also made some more along the way. I don't know how your school system works where you live, but there are bound to be a few of your friends there. It is usually after high school that we lose touch with our friends. If there aren't, you should try signing up for some extra-curricular stuff you have an interest in, like sports, music ,drama etc. You will meet other kids there who have the same sort of interests as you and should be easy to make friends with. You will alaways have something in common to talk about. I wouldn't worry so much if the friends you make are in the popular pile or not. Popularity is highly overrated.

The easiest way to find out if your bf still likes you is to ask. I know it is ridiculously logical, but there you go. Don't dump him just because you are moving to middle school. If your relationship has been waning a bit maybe it is best for the two of you to break it off. It is not natural for guys to be romantic all of the time. I sometimes think we girls expect too much. You are too young to be so focused on a boyfriend now, you should spend your time learning as much as you can and having fun with your friends and family. High School will be over all too soon. There is plenty of time for relationships in the future.

Hi Cay-Cay,
My advice comes from 50 years ago, so you will probably pay no attention, but here it is anyway:
1. Don't even think about having a boyfriend. Think about what kind of life you want to live and what you will have to do to prepare for that. The right boy and friends will notice your determination and direction and will be attracted to that.

2. Do the best possible work you can in school and in everything you do, so you can always look back and be proud.

3. Take good care of yourself so you are neat, clean, in shape.

4. Always have an easy smile.
