No, and for the same reason that school buses don't have seatbelts; it costs too much.

Also imagine the chaos if everybody is trying to jump out of the plane. Some people will go too early, others will freeze up, and the rest will just get into a jumble. Also in many cases it is safer to stay with the plane than to jump. The people on July 17, 1996 TWA Flight 800 all died. The plane exploded in mid air and no one would have had time to reach a parachute. Then there is the cost of people who injure themselves or die when they have a parachute accident. People don’t listen to the safety lecture, do you think that they will want to take the time to learn how to use a parachute?

This is a very common question here.
I would like to add something from the FARs part 91

(a) No pilot of a civil aircraft may allow a parachute that is available for emergency use to be carried in that aircraft unless it is an approved type and— it goes on to describe how recently it must have been packed etc.

Also if it is a commerical flight (not on an airliner) that is going to be doing some aerobatic maneuvers you must have a parachute

c) Unless each occupant of the aircraft is wearing an approved parachute, no pilot of a civil aircraft carrying any person (other than a crewmember) may execute any intentional maneuver that exceeds—

(1) A bank of 60 degrees relative to the horizon; or

(2) A nose-up or nose-down attitude of 30 degrees relative to the horizon.

(d) Paragraph (c) of this section does not apply to—

(1) Flight tests for pilot certification or rating; or

Parachutes! No...just a pillow to bite into when the plane is plunging towards the ground from 36,000 feet at 500 mph!

To paraphrase a well-known saying, an airline passenger needs a parachute like a fish needs a bicycle.

No, they don't really do much good, unless your aircraft is being targeted by a missile. Otherwise you could make it down to ground safely and escape there.

No there are no parachutes on a commercial or private airline. They have rafts and vest on private and probably just vest on commercial airlines.

If you are talking about a regular scheduled commercial airline flight, then the answer is no.

Never heard of it. If the plane goes down, everyone is going down.

No it would not work to have passengers jumping out of a plane.

Two immature plants = a pair of shoots.)

They will, if you ask for a special salad meal, and you travel first class.
