For 2 years I've been growing it out and I think it's time for a change,
but my mom said it's a strikeing feature.

No. Anyone can have short hair, but it takes patience to get it long. Guys really like it too. LOL

I cut my hair for Locks of Love in February, and I've had long hair all my life. Although I missed my long hair it felt really good to do something like that and I've gotten used to having it short.
Donating it might help your mom feel better about the change.

I have had my hair long for ten years now. In April I raised money for Breast Cancer and went to a local salon and had my head shaved bald. You know not one person I meet says I look horrible. I have had nothing but compliments on my short hair and asked and told I should keep it this way. It is so much easier to keep and it is cooler in the heat. Yes I think you should cut your hair. Try doing it for a good cause to make people understand why you choose this

Well just look in the mirror and look like you are now and then pick your hair short and then decide
It depends on your face shape some girls with long hair look pretty and some others look prettier with a Short hair
If you look like your avatar I am sure you will be beauty if you cut your hair at your shoulder height

You can cut it if your willing but if you're not don't. Because maybe you have adjusted with your long hair and like it that way. Ask yourself first before doing a hair cut or else you will not be happy with the results.

It your choice, not your mum's. I say go for it, it will grow back if you don't like it, and often a good change in haircut, gives you a boost of confidence.

I think it would be a wonderful change for you... don't go to dramatic, stick with somerhing you know ur going to love!! change is good...ur hair will grow back!!!

if you have had it that way for that long no it is hard and it gets frustrating...try perming it dying it get a new look not length
