How do I tell her in a tactful way to stop shoving food down her throat?

That is hard to answer. She already knows she is overweight, and is probably unhappy about it. Sometimes, it's hard to get motivated. If you are fit, offer to work with her. If you just tell her she's fat, you'll hurt her feelings and maybe hurt your relationship. Be cautious and be NICE. Don't tell her to 'stop shoving food down her throat'...she only eat more in response.

Most likely She knows but you should tell her that you love her very much but do not want to see her get sick with diabetes or have a heart attack so that if there is anyway that you can help her
by going for walks, exercises or planning healthier menus to lose
weight that you will stand by her. Do Not make fun of her or make
nasty remarks and Do Not harp on her or she will put on more
weight. Since you like the internet , offer her the chance to be able
to look up some of the diet plans and menus on the internet.

Tell her you are worried about her health and you don't want her to get sick or die at an early age. Offfer to play sports or go jogging with her to help her shed the weight and help her think of a good diet to go on.
