I had the exact same problem in college. I think a lot of people do. I was only 17 when I started college. I was so young, I had a great looking boy friend, that was not in college, and I did not know what to major in. I actually quit college but not forever. I went back and now, I have 2 college degrees.
Just don't give up.
If I were you, I would take general education classes or a couple of classes with subject you are interested in until I made a decision on a major. English, Math, Typing, PE (Aerobics) or Sociology these classes will give you college units. You could also go to school part-time and work part-time. That is what I did. This will give you some time to decide on a major.

For some people dealing with school and personal hardships are a good thing. Especially for someone who's trying to get over a broken heart. Going to school gives you not only something to do, but confidence, the feeling of accomplishment and direction.
Just because you have a major in mind doesnt mean that you necessarily have direction, and people change majors frequently enough anyways to that having a major is not the most important thing in a college education. What you're supposed to take from going to college is the joy of learning and knowledge, and making yourself a better person on your own.
This is especially good for people who don't think they have a leg to stand on.

Well, if you are having a hard time concentrating then I wouldn't take a bunch of challenging courses this semester. As far as deciding on a major, what were you thinking of before your heart was broken? Maybe if you went with what you were feeling in your heart previously that'll help you through this tough time.

if you're talking about college, just go. you can declare an undecided major for like 2 years, because the first couple years are "gen eds" which everyone has to take. Then, talk to your academic advisor at school (everyone is assigned to one) and he/she will be able to help you out and even give you tests to decide which major would be best for you. Good luck!

Why do you have to have decided, is your non deciding time up? Just go to class with a thirst for knowledge. Take classes that sound interesting to you, this will lead you toward a path and open you to ideas and oppurtunities you never thought of; knowledge is power!

Think about this then. I don't have a college degree and it's hard as hell to find good paying jobs that you don't have to work like a slave.
