Well, at age 13, you really do need to eat more than just 2 bowls of cereal and then 1 meal. Honey nut cheerios has quite a bit of sugar in it but if you're an active teenager, your metabolism should be high enough to burn that off in no time. But because of the sugar content, it'll make you feel hungry again in no time so unless you have strong will power, you'll want to eat again. You don't need to go on a diet when you're a teen, you just have to become active and watch your food intake. If you're hungry after eating, just snack on an apple or some carrot sticks...........don't grab a sandwich after you just ate something. If you're already a bit heavy and need to lose weight (and I stress here, you don't need to look like one of those women in a fashion mag cuz well, they're not real, they're mostly airbrushed and sometimes they stretch their legs with computer graphics and do all sorts of things so don't base yourself on any of that) but a bit of exercise every day will do wonders. Write down everything you eat for a few days and then look at it and decide what you can go without that's not really healthy for you. Hope this helped :)

Don't replace meals with sugared cereals, although I do like them myself. Eat the cereal for one meal, and eat a varied diet the rest of the day. Your cousin should watch what she eats and eat a healthy diet. Restrict the sugar and eat complex carbs. At 13 she will grow out of the extra pounds with proper nutrition and patience.

you should be eating a balanced diet to include fruits, vegies, whole wheat, high fiber goods, protein, a little fat, and dairy. you can lose weight that way, but you will feel deprived. if she is not getting enough of the essential nutrients, etc, that comes from a varied meal plan, over a long period of time, it might affect her health. she needs to consult a nutritionist if she truly needs to lose weight. she needs to do it in a healthy way. cheerios are nutritious and should be eaten with a piece of fruit or peanut butter toast and raisins. good luck
