sun dew orange drink? I don't think I've even heard of it. What is/was it?

Never heard of Sun Dew orange drink - did it go the way of Tropicana fruit punch, which was the best fruit punch on the market but which disappeared a couple of months ago with no explanation? I wish they'd quit doing that!

Sundew was an orange drink (orange juice, water, sugar syrup) bottled in Queens, NY from about the late 1940s to the early 1970s. It was bottled in conical paper containers with a metal rim and topped with a cardboard cap. It was sold all over the NY metro area under its own name and also under the Good Humor and Minute Maid brands (bottled for them at the Sundew plant). My father and his brother were among the original founders/owners. He and his partners ran it profitably until he retired. His brother's sons took over the business. I'm not sure of the details after that, but before he died my father told me the business was sold to a competitor by his nephews.

I loved Sun Dew - if you are ever in Costa Rica or where Dos Pinos products are sold try DP Disfruta Naranja - Same formula and identical taste...

Ive Never Heard of it. But not very many people bought it so it didnt have enough money to keep making it.

A coworker of mines says they have it in NC where her family lives. Don't know exactly where but near the Virginia/NC state border.
