Why must there be so much suffering? Wars, natural disaters, terrorism, rape, murder, homlessness, starvation, hate crimes, disease, etc. etc. etc. Isn't life hard enough without more drama and suffering? Why can't we all just puff on a big ole spliff, drink a beer, help one another out, and have some laughs?
If people just learned to accept one another for who they are and try to pick them up when they stumble this world would be much better.
I'm not a Christian (even though i've read that thing front to back) but I dedicate my life to helping people in anyway possible. Yeah I smoke weed, so what? That just helps me to calm down after dealing in a world where every two seconds a Christian says I'm a sinner for not going down God's road haha.
To me, Christians (for the most part, not all of them. I refuse to say 'everyone' ) seem to degrade people and point out all their flaws, while me on the other hand point out all their good qualities.
honest answers I'm unbiased :)

Will: Sorry, meant to put 'point out other people's good qualities'.
But to answer, alot of Christians do lead great lives, and I respect them for it. Were other have found relief in music, writing, art, they found it in the Bible. And that's a great thing :)

Christians, Atheists, Jews, Muslims, etc,... We all do the same thing. We find something about someone we disagree with and cut them down for it. No-one is right if everyone is wrong. Anyone who degrades another by pointing out what they deem as 'flaws' is passing judgment. Once again it is necessary to point out that not everyone who calls them self a Christian really is a Christian. I don't care if you smoke weed, although I am curious why you felt it important to mention, seeing as how it has nothing to do with the question. Where's the Love? Hidden behind the theology that regardless of what you believe, the other person is wrong to believe something else.

The same questions you wrote at the beginning of this post, are the same questions I ask myself every single day that passes by. However, I can't seem to find an answer for them but I still try to be positive and have faith that one day humanity will change.
Like you, I believe that this world would be way better if we just learned how to appreciate everybody's differences and also trying to be tolerant with people.
As for your comments about Christianity, I will have to say to you that although I am Catholic, I do not trust in the people that are in charge of sending "God's messages" to us, as well as I have to admit that I don't really like all of those religious people that think that everything that is against their belief is a work of the devil or sin. (Example: the Bible condems homosexuality, and many people do too, because in the Bible is stated that it is wrong).

The world has always been this way.
The primary difference now is that there are more people and they are more closely interconnected. More people = more problems ... simple equation.
I'm a Caucasian North American non-religious person, and truly believe that I'm more of a humanitarian than many self-proclaimed "Christians" who hate black people, Jews, Hispanics, and anyone who doesn't funnel money into their church.
Violence and hatred has been around since the beginning of time. The world was actually a far more violent place before the continent of the Americas was discovered; the European nations were fighting vigorouslly over much less land, plagues and starvation were rampant. People haven't changed over the centuries - just their access to information.

I believe in God, or a Higher Power, but I don't follow any religion for many reasons (Too many to list here). Love must come from within, by loving yourself, then in increasingly widening circles outward to include all things. I know that is hard to imagine, but you need to find the good things around you and accept those things that you can do nothing about, and change what you can. Look forward, and love who and what you can, and don't despair!!! Peace and Love little sister!!!!

Hello sedated.groupie.. :)
The pain and suffering comes from within ones heart..
Some cannot let go, of wanting to be number one, or having what someone else has, not being able to forgive when someone does us wrong, many others do not want to help others unless they get something (monetary or a commendation) for helping others..
I agree with you, if we concerned ourselves with helping our fellowman, there would not be enough time on our hands to be so self centered.. :)
You have a sincere want and need to help others..
We must lift one another up and not put one another down..
Your quality is that of peace and wanting to help the needy..
Praise the Lord, I have been called of God to be a missionary in His service..
You are in my heart and my prayers.. :)
I admire you for your courage..even though our beliefs are not the same.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

Nobody is perfect, not the Christians, the Jews, the Muslims, no one. We are all here with the same end; death. So therefore, we should do our best to make happiness a priority in our own lives and in others. Religion should play a huge factor and I believe when we lost our faith, we lost it all.

Well I would like to declare the next Mrs. America. Yes Christians are degrading, stay away from them, and if you want to help ,be real, no religion. Love will be at my house tonight, when my priest comes over and we have a hot night of molestation.

So what are all their good qualities?

Life is just a riddle,
confusing you and me,
one day your flying in the sky,
next thing your lost at sea.
The moral to this anicdote,
although may seem far fetched,
the more you think about the pain,
the more you feel stressed.
IGNORANCE IS BLISS!
