am I a bad person if I am heterophobic? Quite a few straight people scare me. Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, that Phelps guy, just to name a few.

trulyblssd LMAO! That was an awesome answer "I'm not homophobic, I'm christian" lol. So the 2 go hand in hand. So it's "I don't consider myself hateful...I'm just a christian"?

But are you afraid of them because of their sexual orientation or their politics?
It's NOT okay to be "heterophobic" any more than it's okay to be "homophobic."
Don't stoop to that level.

"Phobic" means fear of. So, real homophobics have a fear of homosexuality, not a hatred for homosexuality.
Fear is about either (a) something we do not understand, or (b) something we know has the potential to harm us (like being struck by lightening).
True Christians follow the example of JESUS, who did not/could not hate people. Most Christian Pastors/evangelists talk about "hating the sin" which, unfortunately, some have inferred to mean hating the sinner.
The Bible refers to homosexuality being "an abomination to GOD", meaning it makes GOD sick. HOWEVER, lying, pride, and many other sins/behaviors/character defects are also considered an abomination by GOD.
So, true Christians love the person, but hate the behavior/sin, and pray for that person to "cast off" that sin/behavior.
BOTTOM LINE: Being homophobic is not okay by Christians, if it results in homo-hatred.

Christians are not homophobic. We believe in the Bible.
If you were hetero phobic, then you would be scared of all straight people not just a select few.
I'm hetero and they scare me too. I'm not homophobic either.

I'm a Christian and I don't know where in the bible it says it's okay to "homophobic." It says to love your neighbor as your self (2nd) greatest commandment.
You left out...John Wayne Gacy and Dolhmer...oh and who could forget Ted Bundy?
Now those are some scary people.
Seriously though...the bible does tell us to love God first and our neighbor/everyone else second.
Grace to you and God Bless!
