At best, it's just unnecassary and sucking up system resources. If it came with your computer, that's the case. However, some versions have been adapted for malware, and no one really legitimately uses it for home computers. Best thing to do is go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it.

Backweb can be with a program you have on your computer or it can be someone has gained access into your computer. Call your ISP
