Mostly weigfht training, cause Cardio is to slim you down. Also you can eat carbs, but make sure they're healthy carbs like rice, pastas, and so on.

Consult with a doctor for sure. Make sure someone with experience/knowledge is keeping an eye on you.

Please ignore that previous response. There are many people here with advice, much of it wrong.

Biking and running is not how you build muscle mass. It is how you build enudurance. Unless you are sprinting. Even still it is a poor way to build muscle mass.

A simple plan would be to break up the week into a 2-day on, 1-day off program. Workout for 2 days straight and take the third day off to rest your body. I did this type of program when I was your age and it was good.

For day one, work Chest, shoulders, and triceps.
For day two, work Legs, Lats, biceps.
Everyday you should work some abs and calf exercises.

You should get a book and read about supersets, giant sets, and negative repitiions. Make sure you start off with light weight so that you understand the form of each exercise. Using bad form will mean that you will get injured and that you wont be able to work out for some time which means your muscles will get smaller. Also building muscle is about gradually increasing the weight that you workout with to force your body to get stronger. You should keep your repetitions in the range of 8 to 12. Working out with too heavy a weight can cause an injury and should only be done by morons with big egos. Since youre smarter than that, you wont worry about comparing how much weight you can lift, and instead concern yourself with how hard you are training. Lastly, with all this added training you will need to make sure that you get plenty of rest and sleep. And it wont hurt for you to take an amino acid supplement to make sure you are getting enough protein. But consistency is the name of the game. In the summer when I was 16 years old I put on 15 lbs of muscle. You can do it too. Try finding a workout partner which helps keeping you consistently going to the gym.

Keep it simple and don't get crazy. Your diet is just as important to a workout plan as the actual workout. You really don't have to lift a crazy amount of weight to build muscle. Your form and your dedication is most important. Start reading Muscle and Fitness magazines. They are a wealth of infomation for a low price....Good Luck

First off start eating right. You have to let the body know you are ready to be healthy. The just slowly each day start walking or jogging or even biking. Before you go to bed do about 20 sit ups and then everyday increase the amout of exercise.
