Immigration is legal. Immigration has been legal for a long time.
It's Illegal immigration that is Illegal.
And no, not everybody is an immigrant. I thought that point was made clear over and over and over. I was born here, I am not an immigrant......................................... what's wrong with some of you out there???? Do you have documentation proving that you were born here and you are indeed an immigrant? If you say you are an immigrant, and you don't have the documents to prove it, then you should deported to. Bye!!!

To jrr_hill: the Mayflower did not come over in 1492. That would be Christopher Columbus.

To all those saying immigrants should stick to legal immigration, you should consider the fact that the illegal immigrants often come from very poor surroundings, and that it's difficult and time-consuming to obtain legal immigration, time they might not have while their family is starving. I don't necessarily agree with illegal immigration but the background is something you have to take into consideration. They might be trying to escape persecution in their native country, or war, or poverty, or something of that nature.

Immigration is legal! What is illegal is people staying in the country who have not complied with the immigration regulations. Illegal immigrants are illegal. Legal immigrants are legal. Can't get much clearer than that!

Illegal immigration was legal until recently. All your ancestors came illegaly-they had no visa, spoke no English and many didn't have any skills. They all got citizenship right away! Now you say people should be treated like criminals, while your ancestors were NOT!
People are illegal only because the govmt doesn't want them to be legal. everyone wants to be legalized and respected as a human being. Now illegals are treated like slaves.

Are you awake yet? immigration done by the rules is legal,it has been going on for many years, crossing the border without proper documents is illegal,am I going to fast for you, furthermore, when persons steal someone else's social security number and use it for their own purposes it's a criminal act,are you with me so far,any other country would jail those criminals in a heart beat but we have representatives in our government that will sell themselves very cheap and don't want to make waves by enforcing what the law requires
