Do you feel more spiritually enlightened after asking and answering questions on this forum?

At first I was astounded by the large proportion of contributors --both the askers and the answerers-- who seem to remain in the dark, and even some who pretend to be ignorant, about religious matters.

And of course there are those with their own vendettas and malicious agendas, exposing their vile hatred and bigotry to certain groups, and also the distrust and disillusionment that others may have experienced in their past...

I can understand and relate to several people about their sincere concerns for I, too, have been a seeker of the Truth most of my adult life.

My hope is to be able to elucidate certain aspects of what I have found to be true and, perhaps, also be able to contribute in whatever small way I can towards their own spiritual and emotional growth as well...

Peace be with you!

I may not feel more spiritually enlightened but certainly I feel there are a lot of people everywhere that have a full understanding of what they are looking for or at least have the courage to ask and look deeper. Some are on the same road going in the same direction, some or a bit further ahead, and some at the exact same place, some behind and some actually a little above the rest, however, all on a road to understanding....

No, not spiritually enlightened. My spirituality comes from the Bible. But I have learned about some of the other religions and how foolish some people are.
It staggers my imagination how some feel good about an obviously bad religion.

Spiritual enlightenment is not a mental exercise.

Pray to Him. Open your heart. Let Him know how you really feel. If something's bugging you, just let it all go. He wants to help, but He can't if you won't ask Him.

You have the free will to say yes or no to Him.

Pray for forgiveness, accept Jesus as your Saviour, promise to follow Him and learn His ways. This is the way to joy.

I was saved in 1976 but didn't follow Him for a long time (22 years).

I prayed to Him when I was lonely, crazy lonely. I told no one about my prayer. A week later, a woman I worked with called me and said, 'You're not going to believe this but God inpired me to ask you out on a date!' This woman (who just wanted to be friends originally) is now my wife.

He hears the cries of His children!

In Jesus' Name.

It drives to the point where Jesus says in the Scripture that "many are skinned about like sheep without a shepard". I truly feel pity for those who believe that they cannot get to know God and those who feel that they do know God but do not know how to find real answers to their problems. The bible does state, there is one "who is misleading the entire inhabited earth" Rev. 12:9, who is "blinding the minds of the unbelievers" and keeps "transforming himself into an angel of light". I can't wait until the time comes where the bible says "and they will have to come to know that I am Jehovah". Eze.6:7, Psalms 83:18.

I've learned how easily wars could get started over religion!

There are some things about the Bible that I understand better. What bothers me is how angry some people get when you don't agree with them. I've always believed that you have to pray over things, not just go ahead and believe whatever someone just pushes you to believe or else.

What I've learned is there are a whole lot of Preachers that must not be preaching anything other than tithes, the sin of homosexuality, and women submitting to men.

What about the truth of God's word.?
What about salvation?
What about grace and forgiveness?
What about so many other things?

Yes. I have learned that there is a rediculous separation between Christians and the scientific community,

No religious person who is a true believer in his/her faith should be afraid of scientific investigation. If God really exists, the scientists will find out.

Yeah i learned that no-one is willing to accept each others religion. Everyone is so defensive (i include myself) that no-one is listening to what people r really saying. I think what we all need to do is accept that everyone is different and ur not gonna be able to change that so we should just try to respect each others beliefs!
