Can someone translate this into English?

The spanish has some errors, this should be the correct phrasing and grammar:

And I was very stupid for ((I think they left out the "not") thinking about) this before
But I wanted to (show/tell) that I love you a lot/very much.

Some of the words are spelled wrong and I don't know what they're supposed to be. I'm not perfectly fluent, but you get the idea of what it means. The parts in parenthesis are what I'm assuming is meant, but I don't really know because they aren't real words lol. By the way, there's no perfect way to translate "cariño." It is just a term of endearment, similar to "dear," "honey," "love," "sweetheart," etc.
