Does it have points or a distributor cap? It sounds like it is drawing moisture and unable to get the spark to the gas. An easy check is the next time it rains take the cap off and blow dry it put it back on and then see if it starts. I don't know that much about newer cars but i have lots of experience many older cars....

Wet wires, moisture in the distributor cap, get a can of moisture displacer and read the instructions on how to apply it most effectively. Also, check your distributor cap for cracks, check all the spark plug boots, wire to the coil, etc. Connectors leading to the ignition system can also be the culprit so make sure the ones that need covered are coverd, and you can use the moisture displacer there, too.

You most likely will have leaking voltage across defective insulation in the ignition system and the damp air is increasing the leakage so the car won't start. Look for a cracked coil tower or dist cap. have someone crank the engine and look for sparks around the ignition components. Excessive plug and rotor gaps along with a faulty coil or coil lead will also cause this problem. Jules, automotive lecturer. Australia.

it's an electronic part that is being affected by the moisture...look for cracks in those parts and replace them
