Can I cover the primer bulb with a plastic air tight lid, then pour gasoline in the carborator to start the push mower? Wil this keep the mower running?. Will the push mower run without the air filter?

I lost a primer bulb on a lawn mower and blocked the hole with a sewing needle. The mower started without it. You may want to try starter fluid sparingly if it starts too sluggishly. Good luck.

The old metal Briggs carburetors were exceedingly undesirable. that is truly well worth the 40-50 bucks to purchase a clean carb-gasoline tank assembly IF some thing else of the motor isn't wiped out. the hot carbs are plastic and straightforward and paintings properly. If the motor starts off precise up anytime the bottom 1/2 continues to be good and really worth repairing. also replace the tube that runs from the output of the carb to the intake. The metal ones deformed and leaked, the hot plastic ones are more effective positive.

Take the rubber fuel line - duplicate the inner diameter - put in a longer length and run it direct from fuel tank to carb - cut the line and put in a primer bulb from an outboard (marine app) motor. If you run the motor by directly priming the carb will fuel leak where the primer used to be? Might cause a fire. Motor will run without an air filter but not recommended.

yes, the mower will run without the air filter, but you run the risk of getting dirt into the carb. and gumming it up. once the mower is running i don't believe that gas would leak out the primer button, because the carb is sucking in the gas and not letting it sit there
