Yes I would stop.
Even if it's only to pick up the poor little dog and take it to the SPCA; I wouldn't leave it to try to survive traveling along a busy freeway. That's no way for any animal to die.. being hit by a car.

A few Christmas eve's ago ( ummm 5 or so I think if I remember right) I was taking my daughter to her father's parents house for Christmas eve when I saw this Gorgeous White German Sheppard running across the highway ( This was a 6 lane highway plus a center pass lane) at night. He (or she) made it all the way across all those lanes to the other side's shoulder only to have some jerk in a big ol' Truck deliberately SWERVE and slam into the dog causing it's body to be tossed on into the ditch. I cried because someone was so heartless as to deliberately swerve to hit the dog after it had successfully made it across that busy highway.

Some people are just cruel or hate animals. When I got to my ex father in-laws I told him what happened and about where it had happened. He went to try to find the dog because he's a vet. Sadly he didn't find the dog the only possibility is the dog survived, badly hurt and crawled away into the woods at the side of the road to die. The person who hit it didn't even STOP, they had actually sped up when they swerved to hit the dog. It made me wonder if the person wasn't the dog's owner who was the one who dumped it and since it didn't get hit running across the road in the first place they did it to not feel guilty for dumping it in the first place.

So yes I'd stop, if it were injured I would wrap it up in a shirt or what ever but I would stop to help the poor animal.

Ummm, I would stop for pretty much any animal on the side of any road, busy or not. I have rescued turtles and deer and who knows what else. I can't let anything be on the road that isn't meant to be on the road.

Yes, I have had to euthanize too many dogs that were hit by a car. I wouldn't want to scare the dog and force it into the road though.

IF I could stop safely without risking myself or other motorists, I wouldn't think twice about stopping to try and catch the dog.

Yes, I would try to rescue it. I would not risk my life tho, but would try to catch the dog. If there were other people in the car, I would enlist their help in catching the little one.

Yes I would stop on the highway and try to find out who he belongs to.
