the Bible condemns a lot of things, including lusting, stealing, etc.I will never understand why my fellow "christians" pick homosexuality as the be all end all sin.

Sodomy is not a biblical term, though it does come from the Bible story of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Bible clearly does condemn homosexuality though.

God has given us a great gift. The gift of sexual pleasure. He intended this gift to enhance the relationship between a man and a woman who are in a committed marriage relationship.
All other forms of sexual activity are forbidden. For more details, check Leviticus 18:22, and Leviticus 20:13. (By the way, it is exactly the same if a woman lies with a woman as with a man, God makes no difference.) If you are still confused, read Jesus' teachings about marriage.
(I'm still looking for that passage that specifically mentions "sodomy"??)

Sodomy is just one of the groups. Lying with a man as you would a women is condemned. The best thing to do is not try to change God's Word to fit what you want to do. Best to let the Word of God change YOU.

Eph 4:18-19 says "having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to senuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more."
It's not just sodomy, and it's not just homosexuals.
We are furthur told in Chapter 5:3-5 not to have even a hint of sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity, no foolish talk or coarse joking, no greed or idolatry.
Trying to make a loophole out of avoiding one particular act will not be accepted by God.

Its not just sodomy. Man shall not lay with man. It gets pretty specific.
The reason why gay/lesbian is a hot topic, is because they are pushing gay "marriages".
In the 80's it was music. In the 90's it was tolerance.
Well, guess what, we have tolerated this country right down the tubes.
We need to get our spine back, and fight back.

As long as they didn't have sex with each other, they haven't sinned. There's nothing wrong with love, no matter how strong and steadfast. But if sex is no part of their relationship, I think it really ceases to be "gay" in any meaningful sense, doesn't it? They become committed friends who love each other dearly, and that's an altogether different thing (and a perfectly acceptable one, I might add). If two gay people can live together without sex and without too much lust (everybody suffers a little bit), then God bless them and good luck to them!

As another answerer stated, many things are sin, including lust. Also, as a Christian, I don't think homosexuality is the worst sin. The Bible does specifically mention sexual sin (homosexuality, fornication, adultery, etc), but in the end we are all sinners, and need God's grace.

The bible also condemns lusting for your neighbour's wife...didn't stop me there...and the millions of my devout christian brothers all around the world. Love it when things are "condemned".
