Technically, we are asking the saints to intercede with God on our behalf, not praying to them. You are correct, though, most people don't get it and that is a problem. Most people go to church out of habit and just do things without thinking about them--not a good practice at all! There is a fine line between worshiping Saints and asking for intercession!

We Pray in front of a statue in order to concentrate our whole energy on prayer. It is easy to get distracted, when you pray in front of a statue, it focuses your mind on prayer. It is not idolatry. We know that these statues have no power in themselves, they are just there for our use to remind us of our faith. If it was idolatry, we would believe the statues were gods and offer sacrifice. Of coarse Not! There are wonderful aides for prayer, meditation, and reminder of faith.

I like this game...lets see which sect of Christianity is the most hypocritical!
One point for Catholics...
Our next category...the bible says that only the meek shall inherit the earth, and that you should give away your wealth and possessions...now, who's church includes padded pews and a gymnasium!?!

No. It is a focus of the prayer. We pray to the saint through the image, not to it.

i would say yesit is againt the Ten COmmandments that we should not worship idols etc only the One true God.
in my readings etc i come to believe pesonally that the cathlic faith is a sect or if you would a cult as well as many others i would not mention but if you really read God's Word there is only one true living God nand we all have to answer to him regardless of our religion and belieifs. many belifs but one GOD

hey its called VENERATION. Maybe you should learn about our faith before you criticize the catholic religion. We "HONOR" people who lived very close to God. We don't worship them, but try to learn from them and ask for them to pray for us since they lived holy lives.
