If someone in your family needed a kidney?
Lets say that this person had sexually abused you as a child, would you still give them one of your own kidneys? (Most healthy people can live with one kidney). Would you do it?
Yes...you are definitely correct! Healthy people can live with one kidney.
But not every healthy people can right away donate kidney. As a donor, you need to undergone a series of examination test such as HLA compatibility test to identify the degree of rejection probability by recipient to your kidney. As FYI, every single individual is unique, even identical twin can reject the kidney of his/her sibling twin.
That is why doctors uses immuno suppresant drugs and steroids after surgical operation to minimize or delay the rejection time of the tissue implant.
(If you are familiar with the movie film "THE ISLAND", they used the technology of clonning to solve the issues of tissue implant problem.)
As for the question of family dilemma...that is the hardest part. It will took me a couple more time before i answer your question. Because of considering i was sexually abused by this person....it is very traumatic!! Maybe after i finally agree to donate my kidney, he/she is lying 6 feet under the ground.
i hope this one is helpful to you!

Anyone that sexually abused a child was a terrible person at that time of his life. Has he come clean and confessed to the family and feel remorseful about it? Has he asked for forgiveness from the abused? I don't mean recently but a long time ago. If the answer is yes then I probably would but if no to any one of the questions then probably not.

This question touches close to my heart, for not only does kidney disease run in my family, I was molested by my father. I had two uncles and an aunt die from kidney disease, one having had a transplant that failed years ago. I have to say that I would give my father a kidney had he needed one. I had no contact with him for years before he died two years ago. I know I would have because it isn't about the choices he made in his life, it is about what choices that I make in mine that makes me a better person. I may not have cared about him because of choices he made, but I would not have played God nor would I have wanted to feel that I had reduced myself to his level of inhumanity. I would have given it more because of the person I am, not because of the person he was. It is a personal decision for anyone...whichever you choose, be at peace with it.

I would hope that if he did need a kidney and I was a match, that I would be able to do so. Thankfully, one of his biological kids is more likely to be a match! This would never be easy, but I don't know that I would be able to let him die just because of what he did to me. He is still a person who means a great deal to a lot of people.

I'd have to consider long and hard about giving a kidney to a family member I loved dearly.
Someone that had sexually (or otherwise) abused me? He better hope that the prison system can find him a donor, otherwise, he better learn to enjoy permanent dialysis.
I'm not the forgiving type.

I think that all organ transplants are an abomination of nature. I would not donate anything to prolong the life of another human nor would I accept any ones body parts being put in to my body. Death is a natural part of living and people need to be able to accept death when it is their turn.

That is an extremely difficult moral one to answer. I think the Christian thing to do would be to go ahead, IF, and only IF the incident that caused the abuse had been resolved to everyones' satisfaction. I am happy I do not have to make that decision, I honestly do not know what I would do.

Honestly, no. Normally I'm all for organ donation, but there are some people who shouldn't live.
I know, that's horrible, but didn't the Bible say eye for an eye? I could not be any part of continuing that life.

If they were basicly a nice person-- like they reformed or something.. maybe.
but otherwise-- if they did that-- they are not worth it.
so depends on situation and who it is..
and how close they were to me..
