So Hershey has a really weird shaped body and head. He can get out of any collars or harnests when we go for walks! This makes it really hard because he has a problem with other dogs and tries to attack them, even thought he's tiny. And he's really nice with us, but not with dogs. Anyways, do you know of someways to either control him, or do you know of any thing to keep him on his leash? PLEASE HELP!

You can get a choker collar. They are adjustable, and I only use mine when we take the dogs for a walk. i do not keep it on all day.

I would put Hershey on a harness instead of a collar and the key to stop the aggression is to make sure Hershey knows that you are in control and the alfa dog. All dog problems are cause by the pack ( your family) not being in proper order. Hershey properly thinks he is doing you a favor by protecting you. I would try putting so coins in a empty can and taping the top. At the very first signs of Hershey making a move to growl, pull or bite shake the cans and get Hershey's attention away from the other dog. In the dog would it would be like the alfa dog growling at another dog in the pack. When Hershey stops praise him.

I would start with Training, I do NOT like choke collars or anything that hurts a dog. I use a Gentle Leader- Head Collar and I use a Gentle Leader- Easy Walk Harness. This items are specific made to help control and teach dogs to walk properly on leash. This two items are only aids to help teach, you must work on training. I prefer the headcollar to avoid being to loose where he can get out of it.
There are also Premier Collars. They are collars that snug tight when being pulled on, they do NOT choke.
All this items can be bought online or at any pet store.
Good Luck- Training helps trust me I had the same issue!

Try a halty. It fits over the dog's face like a muzzle but it doesn't interfere with barking or eating (or biting so don't try to use it instead of a muzzle.) It works like a horse halter. You pull on the leash in the direction you want the dog to go. The pull on the leash turns his head and the dog has to follow where his head goes. The halty fits over the face and around the neck and is much harder to slip out of if fitted properly than a conventional collar. They come under various brand names and you can get them at most pet supply stores.

They seem mean, but have you tried a pinch collar? They are the collars with the spikes on the inside. They don't stab your dog, but merely pinch when the collar tightens up. It works a lot like a choke chain, only it doesn't choke the dog. I am thinking that maybe that will stop him from maneuvering his way out of the collar

Sounds like my mom's dog. Take the dog with you to the pet store and try the product on there. Then you can find just what works and get a good fit. Put the dog in the cart when you're looking to help confine him or hold him.

I recommend obedience school for starters. Also a slip style choke collar cannot be gotten out of. Be careful with being around others....if someone reports you or files a complaint against your dog you could be forced to by vicious dog insurance regardless of the breed type.

What kind of dog is he? If he is small and doesn't like other dogs, maybe just keep him at home, and not take him around the other dogs. Our Chihuahuas hate all big dogs, and I would not take them anywhere unleashed where a big dig could kill one in a second.

I use a choker on my pitbulls. One has a thin face but a big neck and the other has a big square face and thick neck. This works well.
