Why should i go to hell simply because I am not a protestant or a catholic or a jew. As long as i am a good person here on earth, shouldnt i get a good after life too? Considering how many religions there are, it doesnt seem fair to send me to a bad afterlife because I didnt believe in the right one.

I cant really judge, I'm atheist. I guess it shouldnt matter because hell is just a place created to make children and adults follow the rules set forth by organized religion. I suppose if hell really does exist, then it wont matter what religion you are. If youre a good person, then thats it. You get a free pass out of eternal damnation.

No one knows where you will "go" except the Lord. As for one true religion, that is a hard question because most people of faith will say theirs is the only true one. I am a Mormon, so of course I believe my religion is the only correct one on the earth. You may have other beliefs, study them out and pray to your Heavenly Father and ask him in the name of Jesus Christ if what you are doing is correct. I challenge you to read the Book of Mormon, pray and ask the Lord if it is true, you will get an answer!

Yes, that's exactly correct. You will go to hell. That's what Jesus Christ said in the Bible. The one and only true religion is Christianity. Yes, there are other religions, but those, except for Christianity, are all man made. You can't get strength, courage, healing, wisdom, etc. from Muhammad or Buddah. Only Christ. And no, you are not a good person. The Bible says that nobody is good, except for Christ. You want proof? Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen? Have you ever looked with lust at another person (called adultery, as if you even think it, the Bible says that you committed it) Ever murdered anyone? (Yes you have. The Bible says that if you have hatred in your heart or think ill toward another, you have committed murder in your heart, the same as committing it for real.) Thus, according to Jesus, you are a lying, theiving, adulterous murderer! But, thanks to what Jesus Christ did by dying on the cross and taking mankind's sins upon himself, you can be cleased of your sins, forgiven and given everlasting life because of Jesus Christ. In the Bible, Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth and the life, nobody gets to the father (the Lord) except through me." He also said, "truly, truly I say to you, if you are not born-again (get born spiritually through Christ), you cannot see the kingdom of heaven." Both mean that if you don't have Christ in your life, you will spend eternity away from him in hell. So please, my friend, ask Jesus to enter your life and He will! He is our savior and our only hope.

The only reason those religions tell you that you will go to hell if you do not follow them is because that is what their leaders tell them. See, the religion that has the most followers will be the most powerful. Not one of those people can sit there and tell me that the little American Indian dude back in 1150AD is going to hell because he praised the Raven or Eagle or Sun God. It is a ploy to scare you into following them. Don't listen to them. Find what you believe in your own heart and you will be fine.

Religions were created by humans, humans have a natural will to survive and overcome. Therefore it is only natural for the religions created by man to become the strongest one. Sound a little like Darwin? Survival of the fittest. There were many religions stamped out by the stonger ones, doesn't mean they were wrong. Read on all of them and decide for yourself. You can even take the parts you like from each one and make up your own religion, call it Opie!

The Bible says "all have sinned" That means there aren't any good people. Jesus said "i am the way the truth and the life, no man cometh to the father but by me" It's not really a religion, it's a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is important.

The sect doesnt matter, as far as heaven or hell. What does matter is Jesus. He is the only way to meet the Father, and he says it on a number of occasions.

Now, the benefit to living a godly life is the rewards you get in heaven. The crowns. Revelations explains that.

Hope that helps !

Supposedly, somebody has to fill up that big empty space and we got the bad deal. Oh no, not the murderers, or rapists, or anybody like that who's a Christians. The atheists, pagans, Hindus, Buddhists, Wiccans, everybody else who may live perfectly moral lives but not believe in God. Ah, what Justice that is.

Greetings,
To accurately reply it is not a matter of which or what religion one belives or belongs to. It is a simple matter of believing that Jesus Christ is your savior. There is no other name given by which you can be saved by.This from what I can understand from reading the bible will get your foot in the door. Should you want more then you need to repent of your sins and ask for forgiveness from God through His Son Jesus Christ, for no man comes to the Father except through Me. Should you desire more then you must try to emulate Jesus' life while He was here on earth.Prayer to the Father through Jesus' name will avail you much if it be the will of the Father to so grant your prayer. For your prayer needs to come from the proper perspective of your heart and not through one that is trying to be self-serving.Going to church, well that's up to you as the purpose of gathering at a church is to have fellowship with other christians as yourself.

It is my suggestion that you dump the whole religion idea and just ask God to lead you to the TRUTH. Just talk to Him (pray) that if He is real, he will reveal Himself to you and that He will show you the way to live. Believe me, it ain't about religion. God is a long way from religious, but right in the center of TRUTH. Religion is mans concept of what he thinks is true based on a few factors. God is reality based on ALL factors that exist. You must get away from concepts of TRUTH and get with the source of All TRUTH. Jesus made that possible with His death on the cross. The Spirit of God is now avalible to live and teach inside of you. That is not religion that is TRUTH.
