If your brother is doing drugs or is involved in something that could ruin your life - you need to let him go. If he won't accept your help to stop whatever it is he's doing then you can't do anything about that. The only thing you can do is talk to your mom about it or another trusted adult. You can't get into whatever your brother is into just because you want to help him - the only way you can help him is to talk to other adults that might be able to do something more for him or confront him about what he's doing.

The question is what is his problem.... If it is going to get you into legal trouble to help him, or put you in a position where you could be physically harmed, then no, let him go on his own. He got himself into it, he can get out. The fact that you are saying so little means that you should probably stay out of it. People have to be responsible for their own actions. That said, if my lil sis got in trouble and came to me, it WOULD be really hard to turn her down....so I understand your feelings, just use your head...

It seems like it is a problem your brother has gotten himself into. What is your part in the problem? He got himself into it...not you. Neither did you get him into such problem. I'd say...let him go! It might hurt, he's your brother, but the sacrifice that you are trying to make, will not do any good to none of you, and might get worse.

If your brother loves you, he wouldn't want you to jeopardize yourself to help him. Go with your heart and try to make the right choice. Think it out but whatever you do choose and not just decide. Sometimes love hurts. Your brother may need tough love. Later he will appreciate what you have done for him. The choice is yours.

You neglected to tell us what the problem is. Is he doing drugs? Is he an alcoholic? What's the deal? If he has those kinds of problems you should definitely try to help him. You may not be able to do it yourself, so you will probably need to enlist the help of other responsible persons like yourself.

He shouldn't put you in a position of doing anything illegal or immoral to help him. He needs to take responsibility for himself. Talk to your mom.

if i knew more details, i could help more. i guess the details are sensitive and you do not want to say much, perhaps other family
members also use yahoo answers. you should seek help from a counselor, perhaps a preacher.

you'd have to be more specific about the problem. i'd try talking to him and tell him how you feel though. mabye you could tell him that you're scared and you need him at home with you and your mom. he should understand.

Not enough information here.
We can help if we don't know what the problem is.
