why would you want to get back with someone you dumped or that dumped you?
unless things have changed and you guys have matured and have realized what went wrong, and havea new understanding about how you both want things to be, then i would give it a try, if not, i wouldnt waste my time. he has to want you back as well.
if you guys are in the cycle of breaking up a lot, then dont bother. break that cycle and move on.

well if u did something for him to break up with u he might not want u back no matter what u do to try to get him back but i do not know what happend between the two of u to break up , all i can say try calling him and tell him how u feel about him
